Collections - *DON'T* group collection items by media type
rexerm replied to rexerm's topic in General/Windows
Please put this in the next version. I really loved how emby formerly handled collections. Ugh.... I am very disappointed. -

Hi, an option to control this is certainly possible. -

This is another example, it froze when changing the poster for “Madam Web” Emby Server Logs.txt

At what point in the song do you pre-cache the next one?

And, I really hate not having a full screen of collection items. Instead, everything is in a line that needs a click on a > icon to scroll. Terrible. Edit: Emby Collections have been a huge advantage over Plex, due to seamlessly integrating anything from any library. This has now been broken. -

With 4.8.4, Collections are suddenly split by media type. I hate this. Is there a way to undo this? I want movies and episodes to be combined in chronological order, as before.

Some films and series are not displayed in Emby on the TS-251

Hi, can you please provide specific example(s)? -
Hi, how many Emby libraries have you created, and what folder paths are added to each one?

Hi, have you tried using Emby remote control features to send media from the Emby web app on your PC to the Emby LG app?
-
HI, what version of Emby for Apple TV are you on now?

Hi, we'll take a look at it. Thanks for reporting.

Hi, perhaps we just need to give the option a different name. In developer terminology it is external storage, but many devices end up putting it on internal storage.

brand new instance doesn’t import metadata from .nfo files
Luke replied to dance4ever's topic in Linux
H, Emby doesn't support reading user watch info from nfo files. That data is write only. -
Hi there, let's look at a specific example: How to Report a Problem Thanks.
-
I just noticed that any changes I make to the metadata get reverted after a library scan
- Today
-
This ball was picked up sooner than I thought in an attempt to migrate from what seems like a possible corrupt install, I decided to try importing metadata and inserted an example you requested in a new thread as I want to keep the issues separate and I’m no longer migrating from macOS
-
dance4ever started following brand new instance doesn’t import metadata from .nfo files
-
I created a brand new container and all my movies have .nfo files (created by Emby). Here is an example of metadata not being imported during the initial scan: <isuserfavorite>true</isuserfavorite> <playcount>2</playcount> <watched>true</watched> <lastplayed>2024-03-12 03:48:30</lastplayed> <resume> <position>2049.88</position> <total>7144.704233</total> </resume> When I created the Movie library, I made certain to check “nfo” as a metadata provider. What is the right way to configure Emby to import this metadata?
-
that’s correct - that’s exactly what I’ve done and what I love about Docker - keeps Emby happy with defaults and keeps user happy changing ports at will thanks for confirming that - that’s what I suspected to - that’s why I’m wondering if there is debug output as the web server seemingly doesn’t start/serve. In an attempt to kill two birds with one stone, I started another emby container to see if it will initialize the library with all the exported resume time and favorites metadata in all the .nfo files. Didn’t have any luck. To keep this thread focused, I will start a new thread in regards to this issue. I feel it probably is more straight forward to figure out why the server is blocked serving a web page after initial startup.

Lots of pausing and stoping both ATV and latest android
80srule replied to 80srule's topic in Android
How do I get that? I updated to ffmpeg version N-114897-gbba996d6cd Copyright (c) 2000-2024 yet emby still registered 6.1.1 copyright 2023. -
Hi, we are looking into this. But yes right now it is intermittent. Thanks.

This will be normal for you since ffdetect is part of our custom ffmpeg build.
-
Another thing - when the server has nothing to do, like after a restart without media changes or user activity, that place in your log is pretty much where it stops until there is activity.

I have had emby for a few years now and this is the first time I have seen this issue with pausing every 30 seconds. I dont know what's causing it but it's very annoying. I updated the ffmpeg but yet empty still sees the 6.1.1 copyright last year not the ffmpeg version N-114897-gbba996d6cd Copyright (c) 2000-2024
