The movie is Murder On Orient Express 2017. Thanks. It is the very beginning of the movie. The file is 350 to 352 MB the whole movie is over 50 GB.

I would like others, at least one person, try it with their Emby and maybe Plex too just for a test. The 1 minute clip of the movie. The purple graphical issues happen after the intro of the beginning of the movie credits.

Should be fine to provide the sample, but would still need the server and ffmpeg logs if created for this media.

Tried playing a few times in Firefox, where it transcodes and on Theater and using the Shield, where it direct plays, and didn't spot any purple artifacts. It did seem like there was a brief audio glitch at about 26 seconds though, during the bird bit.

Edit - latest server beta on Windows.

Can you post ffmpeg log? Maybe it’s remuxing H265 HDR content.

Look at Stats for Nerds per client or the Dashboard to see what it is doing.  Check the log folder for ffmpeg log.

But I am not seeing any purple graphical issues, but this is via a browser so it is transcoded and tone-mapped.

Should it be on synology nas server or my windows server ? The log files from.

Sorry I don't follow.  The log will be from what ever server you are playing from.  If both server do the same then is shouldn't matter.

Most clients will not play well with remuxed HEVC do to HEVC and HLS do not play well together.  So if does not DirectPlay there most likely will be issues.

Seemed fine for me on FireTV 4K stick, though that was playing to a 1080p TV.

Why does it work ok in Plex ? Just asking.

Have no idea what playback method they use.  But there are dozens of topics here on HEVC and HLS.

If its transcoding could it be the specific model processor on which the transcoding is happening ?

But have no idea if that your issue or not as I have no idea what you are seeing as I do not see any issues in that clip in my playback methods.

@ng4everif you changed audio track to the AC3 5.1 do you get the same results?

Never mind you are not on a multi-channel system or even ac3.

I am guessing this is what you are talking about from my Roku Ultra.  Directstream chocking on HEVC in HLS.

So your only options is making the item DirectPlayable or a Full transcode.  DirectStream is not really a option across most devices, HLS is find for h264 but h265 pretty much fails in HLS.

This is the problem:

17:35:38.862 Stream mapping:
17:35:38.862   Stream #0:0 -> #0:0 (copy)
17:35:38.862   Stream #0:1 -> #0:1 (truehd (native) -> aac (native))

Plex has fixed this using fMP4 or MKV segments.
