This is getting weirder. I disable the original channel, before adding the new m3u. I've just re-enabled the original channel and now that is working again 🤨

This makes me think, that during the refresh, something wasn't updated

It could be as simple as the provider switched the channel and you never got the update.

That would explain everything!
