There's just the generic initialization of the plugin by Emby. The only other thing I can suggest is to delete your Iconic.xml config file and restart Emby: Quote 2024-02-26 16:58:30.587 Debug XmlSerializer: Deserializing file C:\embyserver-win-x64-4.8.1.0\programdata\plugins\configurations\Iconic.xml But I don't see anything to implicate Iconic in the issue you're having and haven't experienced anything like it on my installs. Removing iconic removes the issue..and putting iconic back on returns the issue and so on ad infinitum. ive tried a handful of catalogue and personal plugins and iconic was the only one i could find that showed the issue. Steps to reproduce on another computer.... 1. Extract portable 4.8.1.0 2. create a movie and music library using UNC paths and tick "Keep a cached copy of images in the server's metadata folder" and NFO reader and NFO saver 3. let scan complete. 4. create a 500 song music playlist 5. play a track on the playlist 6. twiddle thumbs for 10+ seconds My best guess on pertinent config to show the issue are Library UNC paths, and library setting "Keep a cached copy of images in the server's metadata folder". (only because they are image adjacent and a new setting which will have had less testing) The Database debug activity smells fishy to me as well but i have nothing to back that up. I might just have to be patient and see if someone else has the same issue..

Ok, thanks for checking. The plugin is properly telling the core that it isn't going to process the track images, but I'll do some testing soon to see if there's anything in that evaluation process that can be done more quickly or skipped altogether. Glad to hear it. It seems the call to check an item's parent library got more expensive at some point. For that beta build, I'm skipping the library check when the item is a music related or user type, since Iconic isn't going to process those anyway. This allows me to tell Emby sooner that Iconic won't be processing that item's images. I'll need to do some more testing before a final release, but it's fine for you to keep using that beta until then. Thanks for finding this.
iloveparks 7
Is it possible to get Iconic to overlay on the "backdrop" image displayed in Continue Watching for Movies? I was able to get an overlay for TV shows "backdrop" image in the Continue Watching row when using the "tag" rule for a TV Shows library - I set this at the Shows, Seasons, AND Episodes level. I don't see a way to set a rule for anything other than the movie for a Movie library, but it seems to only update the main poster for the movie. Two quick screenshots of why it is nice/my use-case - for when items are duplicated in CW:

Two quick screenshots of why it is nice/my use-case - for when items are duplicated in CW: Thumbnail images get the same icons the poster image does. For movies, ungrouped duplicates should get a set of icons specific to each item. For TV episodes, last I checked, some clients would use a thumbnail image for continue watching when present. Iconic will overlay the icons on these images. There's no way for the plugin to overlay icons for an episode on the show background image when it's used for a TV episode in continue watching though. iloveparks 7
Hmm ok, sounds like I should have icons on these thumbnail images in CW for my movies based on your response.. Thanks, I will look into my rules a little more and see if I can't figure it out.

FWIW with 2.4.1.0 iconic on 4.9.0.11 server the web client takes 20 seconds to shuffle my 1000 track playlist but Emby theatre 3.0.20 is still going with a spinning circle 4 minutes later......I guess different clients are 'doing different things;' with regards to image caching/loading. Whilst 2.4.0.2 starts playback 'immediately'. May 4.8+ builds of Emby are having a significant impact on image processing plugins. Did you turn debug logging on because you were having a problem, or did you already have it on? Because debug logging itself is going to slow things down. Ok, this should be fixed again with 2.4.1.1. Just a dumb dumb on my part. When I 'improved' the bypass for final release, I somehow removed the line of code that actually carries out the bypass.
wyhghost 0
Hello, this is a great plugin that has been of great help to me and I am very happy to pay for it.Thank you for making it! But my film cover picture is not the standard 2:3, but 3:2. On the 3:2 cover, the icon is displayed very small and will be stretched. May I ask if this plugin can be adapted to cover images of different proportions. Thank you again for your contribution.

Hi, it depends on whether the distortion is actually coming from my plugin, or if the Emby client is adjusting the image after it receives it from the server. I can't do anything about the second one.
Gohlas 14
Hi @roaku, I paid for the plugin earlier today and I am still having the unregistered message. After I paid it, I got an email with my premium key. Not sure why. Can you assist to get it working? Edited April 18 by Gohlas

It can take up to 24 hours for registrations to fully activate on Emby's side. Also, if you registered with a different email address than your Emby Premiere email address, we'll need someone from the Emby team to update your registration information. I believe it is the same e-mail, then I will wait until tomorrow and check again. Thanks!
Gohlas 14
Hi again @roaku It still doesn't work. Who should I get in contact from emby's teams to solve this? I'm pretty sure used the same e-mail, but maybe because it was long ago?
