Completed Restrict by tags: Additional option: Allow items with these tags

I upgraded to 4.5.2 and did 3 tests.

1. Kids profile has a Parental Rating of GB-U. Tag restriction mode set to "Allow only items with these tags". But no tags have been specified:

The kids library is full of GB-U movies. Success!

 

2. Kids profile has a Parental Rating of GB-U. Tag restriction mode set to "Allow only items with these tags". Create a tag called "OkForKids", but don't assign it to any movie:

The kids library is empty. Fail

3. Kids profile has a Parental Rating of GB-U. Tag restriction mode set to "Allow only items with these tags". Create a tag called "OkForKids", assign it to a single movie:

The kids library has only the tagged movie in. Fail

@Luke were you able to reproduce the issue? 

These two options provide the same results.

Parental Rating + Tag with Allow only items with these tag will only show tagged items no other items

Tag with Allow only items with these tag will only show tagged items no other items

Do we need a third option to get Parental Rating plus additional tagged items?

Parental Rating + Tag with Include items with this tags, should show all Parental Rated item plus item with set tag

 

Also if all items within a library are restricted should a empty library still appear?

yes it should. That's based on library access.

Was this ever fixed. I would love to have the third option described above: 

Parental Rating + Tag with Include items with this tags, should show all Parental Rated item plus item with set tag

I've tested and it does not currently work this way. I'm on 4.6.7.

Hi, as the help text says, it currently shows only the items with those tags.

Is the third option on the roadmap? This would be an extremely helpful feature for users with kids.

This will be in Emby Server 4.8, where you'll be able to choose how the restriction works:
