I was speaking with aaronsomek, the person who started this thread.

As topic has reached over 30 pages, perhaps what we can do is jump into a chat. Then create a new thread when there is a working plugin.

What do you guys think?

I’m ok with anything.  But it’s so close to being all I need as is.

I am really liking and appreciating the enhancements you are making to Auto Organizer. I am running the latest version posted here, v1.6.2.9b. It seems to work great for TV but is failing on movies for me. it goes through the process of identifying, and asking for the Root directory, but does not process or move the movie. Clicking on the amber colored movie name produces a popup saying there are multiple locations even though I selected the root directory it is supposed to go in. I understand you are still working on the plugin. When you finally have it nailed down, could you post the new thread here?

chef is aware of that issue and he is overhauling that part currently. 😉

Using one of the previously posted versions from this thread and also eagerly awaiting a "working" version. Right now it is overwriting movies but it shows them as failing to be processed. I have to manually double check every single title and verify it has been replaced with what I want before removing the "failed" version that shows in the plugin's log page. :( I hope this can be resolved soon, good luck on the fix. :)

I posted in the "General" section, but maybe that was the wrong place. I'll pose the question here.

In the auto-organize pop up when manually adding the show to an existing one (creating a Smart Match)?  It used to have a check box down at the bottom...where I made the red circle...

Is there any way I could request you add 2 features that would take this plugin to the next level? These should be relatively easy to do:

  • Add into the file pattern the ability to take articles (A, An, The) and put it at the end of the file or folder before the production year: Matrix, The (2000)
  • For folder structures setup a different way that Emby allows, instead of dumping the movie folder into a single folder, dump the file into a subfolder with the first letter of the folder name - \Movies\M\Matrix, The (2000)

Evening all - I started working on this project around this time last year then had some family issues and moved onto some other Dev work in the Home Automation space and @chef has obviously taken the reigns since then.

I’m back onboard getting this one complete with finishing touches and hoping we can compile a list of any outstanding ‘feature requests’

Not guaranteeing anything, but trying to compile a list so we know what’s outstanding.

@oldschool I’ll add this one to the list. this one should be simple enough and I’ll include for movies and Series level.

Please post here if you have any requests and tag me

I just update emby to the latest beta, and as i normally do, I go through all the settings to see if anything needs re-setting.

In the schedued tasks, I came across this -

image.png.c78b6e35c7de7823726aa9efe86fa391.png

I dont thing you should be auto scheduling a task like this, as renaming is something that not all people (specially me who has a nicely named system from sonarr/radarr) will want.

I did post above that this is not ideal.  Anything that can mass change the files, causing sonarr/radarr to think they are gone, and possible re-download them all en-masse is a big worry.

Don’t worry - the scheduled task is just populating the internal db with names that don’t match. @chef has coded it so you get a tab appear in Auto Organize when there are files that don’t match but it’s completely up to you if and when you want to apply these

Organize internal - it’s stored in fileorganization.db

not sure if this relates to beta or not - after the emby latest beta install, and a full cache clear on browser, my auto organise screen is merged with what was behind it....... tried on edge also - same thing ?

I am having the same issue here also. On Windows, Edge, Chrome, and Emby Theater.

Its been unusable - maybe caused by the beta update ?

Yes, the Auto Organize UI is broken, but it will still sort episodes - just need to run "Organize new media files" on the Scheduled Tasks tab.

I did notice that.
Unfortunately it identified it incorrectly and moved it into the wrong place.  The tv show Suspect (2020) was instead created in a new folder Suspect (2017).  I think it was 2017 anyway as I copied then and deleted it.

@vaise I think chef posted a working version for the beta in the conversation thread we were having with him, I'm reluctant to post a link publicly as it's not my work to post, nor do I know if it should be posted publicly.

Really hoping we can get some form of working update from the great @chef really missing the hourly updates of his work on this plugin 😢 come back to use chef we miss you. Hope you are keeping well.

It doesn't work at all for me, it's not identifying anything.

Auto Organize does nothing for me.  I thought I found a great solution and it seems like others think so. I must have done something wrong.  I tested it by creating a new TV2 folder and dropping a new series folder in there and then a SEASON 4 folder for that.  Auto Organizer doesn't do anything with the files at all.  Doesn't even seem to see it even though I have it watching the TV2 folder.  Am I doing something wrong?
