porkbone 40
I have been having issues with video podcasts looking pretty bad lately plus they stop after a little while. I read on the forums about this same issue (Trailers) and the workaround was to download the channel content and play it locally. That would be fine, but it's downloading everything in podcasts. The audio podcasts play great with no delay, so I don't really need to download them. There are only a few video podcasts that I would download since they are current shows, but it started downloading all the movies from Cult of UHF just to start. So I guess what I'm asking is there a way to breakdown which podcasts get to download content. Unless, of course, someone would like to help me figure out why my video podcasts now look so blurry/pixelated and stop after a few minutes. I would be eternally grateful! I have the streaming set to best available. MBS Version 3.0.5289.18702 MBC Version 3.0.191.0 7-7.1 Subdude theme (love it!) I'm playing this in MB Classic Thanks for your time and for making Mediabrowser 3!!! :)
ebr 15283
What are your max bitrate settings in the Playback tab of configuration in MBC? What happens if you increase them?
Luke 38356
i'm sure eventually there will be more fine tuning with the downloading. the reason they look terrible is because no matter how good the source content looks, if you're going to transcode on the fly to WMC the only option is encoding to wmc, and the one in ffmpeg isn't very good. We can't even do h264. That's what happens when you try and bring all these new features to a 10 year old player. Maybe ebr can give podcasts the same hack as trailers. porkbone 40
Thanks for the quick replies ebr & Luke Ebr, I have the streaming settings in MBC set to 40 mbs local - I increased it from 30 to see if it made a difference - none I have the remote set to 10 mbs - it was at 2 - no change Makes sense about the 10 yr old player. Looking forward to the day I can dump WMC and go full MB Theater! Also - thanks for fixing gamebrowser - everything is working great!

porkbone 40
I was a little too gung-ho to download the beta update. I started it without realizing MBC was open in WMC and it crashed. Now I can't start it and it disappeared from the control panel's remove programs. derp. I'll get back to you after I fix this and install the beta
porkbone 40
ebr, the beta fixed both problems! video plays all the way through and looks way better. Also, it now shows the full time of the podcast and the skip function works again! The only thing... it took almost 3-4 minutes for the video to start playing. I'll look at this more in the morning. I only tried one podcast. Thanks again for the super rapid fix!
porkbone 40
Nice job, ebr. Now that I have checked out more of them, it's working great! Turns out it was that single video podcast feed that was causing the slow playback. It seems to be working even for that one this morning, so this is solved! Thanks again!
