Skyobliwind 4 Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 Hi, after a little trying I think about buying premiere, but I'm not quite sure what the "devices" mean. The only options matter are the lifetime licenses. I use such homeserver to NOT pay monthly. The normal license includes 25 devices, what about the upgrade? Does it upgrade to 45 in total or 45 additional (70 in total)? Can I buy more upgrade licenses to increase devices more than 1 time? Without premiere I can use as much devices as I want, with premiere 25 only? Or is it only 25 devices with premiere features and the rest witthout (well I can't imagine how that should work) Regards
ebr 15484 Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Hi. Have you seen this article? Is there a limit to Emby Premiere The licenses do not "add" together. They are for the amount they state. Does that answer all your questions?
Skyobliwind 4 Posted March 3, 2020 Author Posted March 3, 2020 1. So I read in other forums comparing home media servers that the lifetime license is not a lifetime license but just a major release license? Means if I buy it now it works for Version 4.x but not for any later releases? 2. So If I understand the feature Matrix correctly Webbrowsers don't count as premiere devices? What if they use the hardware transcoding that comes with premiere? If those are excluded it may work, if not the device limit seems to low for me. 3. The unlocked Emby Theater App is bound to what? The Server? I mean I can install it on as many many PCs as I want? Give it to a friend for watching on my server and so on? Those are the questions I dind't find answers to. 1
Solution ebr 15484 Posted March 3, 2020 Solution Posted March 3, 2020 1. So I read in other forums comparing home media servers that the lifetime license is not a lifetime license but just a major release license? Means if I buy it now it works for Version 4.x but not for any later releases? That is not correct. Please see our official knowledge base and do not rely on discussions on public forums. 2. So If I understand the feature Matrix correctly Webbrowsers don't count as premiere devices? What if they use the hardware transcoding that comes with premiere? If those are excluded it may work, if not the device limit seems to low for me. At this time, web browsers do not count. This really mostly about the fact that it is very hard to determine unique instances of browsers. 3. The unlocked Emby Theater App is bound to what? The Server? I mean I can install it on as many many PCs as I want? Give it to a friend for watching on my server and so on? Emby Theater does not have an unlock option at this time but unlocked apps are not bound to any server. The unlock is tied to a store account where it was purchased (Google, Apple, etc.). 1
