Luke 39637 Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 I've merged your topics together as they are discussing the same issue. Thanks !
Luke 39637 Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Did you notice the error in the ffmpeg log? file:E:\Video\Movies\007\17 Goldeneye.mp4: No such file or directory That says your file doesn't exist. Have you checked to make sure it's still there? What kind of drive is your E: drive?
sgoodman175 1 Posted May 26, 2019 Author Posted May 26, 2019 (edited) I do not understand how that can be. None of my media will play. The files are there. They have been in the same location for several years now. I do not move things around, only add movies to the movie folder without renaming anything. My media played 2 days ago. Yesterday is when they stopped playing. I have not made any additions or changes what so ever to the Toshiba E: drive in several months. I do notice that when I hit play, the light on the drive does not blink like it should when the app tries to play the movie. I have done nothing that would cause the media to not be recognized anymore. Is there some setting that could have been flipped? It does do this in the server when TV tries to play movie (see photo) Emby Software up to date. Fire TV software up to date. Restart Emby server does not fix. Scan libraries does not fix. I need help, but also I need patience too as I am having to learn things as I go, just as I had to learn how to use Notepad yesterday. Thank you for your assistance. Wondertje 10 Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Have you tried accessing and playing the files outside of Emby to see if the drive is still functional?
sgoodman175 1 Posted May 26, 2019 Author Posted May 26, 2019 Yes. Drive works fine. Plays movies/music within drive as normal. No problems. 4T drive with still 450GB free space.
sgoodman175 1 Posted May 26, 2019 Author Posted May 26, 2019 Ok, I was going to try and add a couple of new movies to the Emby library when I noticed a something. Seems that when I created my Emby library, all the media was saved from location E:\Video\Movies.......but for some reason now the external drive location changed from E to F? ( See attached photos ) This seems to be why it can't play the media. Do you know how this happened? Do you know how to rename back to original? Am I going to have to reload my library?
Solution sgoodman175 1 Posted May 26, 2019 Author Solution Posted May 26, 2019 Problem solved. Had to go into Disk Management to change letter of external drive back to original letter. Now media plays. Have no idea why it would just change by itself, but problem solved. Thank you for the replies and assistance. 1
Wondertje 10 Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Drive letters of external components can change depending on what drive letters were available at the time of connecting it to the device. So if you disconnected it and later reconnected it, it could've changed because something else was already using the drive letter E.
