I have setup a mixed content library, in the main folder I have different folders like year 2010, 2011, 2012 and so on. Further in side the year folder I have sub-folders festivals, school, trips etc. All have videos in it, I have put poster.jpg in each sub folder which shows up perfectly.

But the problem is that the image I want to be backdrop / background never shows up, even if I put them into sub folder or in the year folder

I have read and followed all the naming guidelines but could not figure it out, strangely if I do not make sub folders then background image starts to show

@@Happy2Play may have some mixed content tips. Thanks.

Do nested "folders" honor backdrops?  Isn't it only the media item that is able to show backdrops?

I'm  having a hard time visualizing this folder structure. Can you show us an example? Thanks !

Say you have a nested folder for year, if you have background/fanart it will not be displayed when you enter year folder.  I believe actual content applies.

Library path .../misc

  /misc/2010

     poster.jpg

     background.jpg

       /misc/2010/festivals

  /misc/2011

      /misc/2011/trips

Yes

So background art do not appear in the sub folder structure

The visualisation by happy2help is correct

Even if I pit separate poster and background, only poster appears not the background. For example - misc is root folder

/misc/2011

/misc/2011/trips

What is underneath the trips folder?

Videos and one image as backdrop.jpg and another image as poster.jpg

Ok, this is something that can be reviewed in a future update. Thanks.

Is there a way that the trips folder can be treated as seasons of a tv show ?

Posted

Yes, but you'd have to re-organize so that it follows TV naming conventions.

I was trying out your suggestion it's working but now trips, festivals etc had to be named as seasons which is weird to view.

2ndly, there are some audio files they are not showing as per tv show conventions, which were earlier showing, So how do I name them ?

Posted

Unfortunately there isn't a perfect answer to this. TV libraries don't support audio. You may have to move those files out.

How did it go?

There is no way that we can post seasons with different name or otherwise they appear as folders with no backdrop. As far as audio is concerned when the folder is renamed as seasons then audio does not show but when it remains 'trips' it shows and plays audio fine. A lot of trouble , can there be a update that would enable audio in seasons or in folders view show backdrop like tv shows

I will be additional work but the metadata title can be anything you like.  Where the folder needs to be according to supported naming schemes.

Can you please suggest how ? When I name the sub folder as season 1 - trips , it just shows season 1 and if I change season 1 to trips only then it does not that it as tv show due to which no background appears

Is there a way that envy could show "season 1 - trips " complete instead of just season 1??

@@Luke there is no option to increase playback speed to 2x in emby player for Android or ios. Will it be coming to app??

It's possible for the future, thanks.

Have you tried using the metadata editor to edit the name?

I changed the folder name but nothing happened

What do you mean?  You can change the metadata to anything you like.  We are not talking about the folder itself.
