Sleep Timer for App

Recommended Posts

I would like to request a sleep timer function for the Emby app.

For example, when a song is playing, it should be possible to quickly and easily set a sleep timer to shut off the song after a desired interval. Options could include 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45, 60, 120 minutes.

If it had this, I would be happy to purchase Premiere.

For iOS it would be nice but can be done currently within the default Clock app. In the timer section set your time to say 30 mins then set it to ‘stop playing’. Voila.

Please please can this be implemented as it's so essential for audio books and really is a must for a player. Using android app excellent except for this omission, server very very good East to configure.

Adding my support to the addition of a sleep timer. It seems like it is a popular request (one which was made many many months ago), has the support of Luke, yet hasn't been added yet. Instead of just ignoring good ideas like this, why don't you have a "to do list" - even if it takes a couple of years, please add people's suggestions EVENTUALLY, rather than leaving them ignored for such a long time. Thanks :)

There is one, but it will not be a public one.

I was being semi-facetious. Of course they have a “to do” list – but they should be taking all these great user suggestions/requirements and actually doing something about them, not letting them sit for literally years without comment or implementation. It really sucks to pay a lot of money for software like this, and relatively simple additions are overlooked for so long.

Remember, in March of 2019, Luke said “Hi, yes it's a great idea, thanks.”. This was over EIGHTEEN months ago. If he put it on the list, nothing has been done about it. How hard would it be to add a sleep timer? Not hard. These guys are professionals (we are paying them for this software), and yet a simple idea like this is left by the wayside (along with hundreds of other similar ideas)

This really is not great.

is it not easy to implement this feature.. a button with timer?

Lol, there are many relatively simple, good ideas that the Emby team doesn't bother adding. Luke liked this idea over a year ago, yet the team has been too busy to add a couple of lines of code to create a sleep timer. Never mind the fact that they are being paid a lot of money for this software - it is far easier for them to say "good idea" and never do anything about the hundreds of good ideas that people have been suggesting.

that´s a little bit hard ... emby is a very good media station .. but so little things i need more than a feature to skip the intro of series

Yep, the software is good. The attitude of the team behind it, however... not so sure.

Are you sure? Did you see these recent ones?

Shall I tell you what I am "sure" about?

18 months later, still no sleep timer... along with dozens of other good suggestions from months and months ago that have still to be added. Yet, during those months, many people paying you lots of money for this software.

Put good suggestions on a list, and add them.

I am "sure" that is a good idea.

Hi.  You kind already said it.  There are literally hundreds of "good" ideas.  We're sorry but they cannot all be first and some of them, for various reasons, may take a long time and even never make it into the product.  We have to weigh all of the requests against many factors and choose things we think make the most impact for the most users.

Thanks for your support.

I personally think the emby team is doing a great job prioritising new feature work. This is a good idea but honestly there are so few people that would use it that it makes more sense to work on things that more people would use first.
