Hello, tower near me recently moved around and swapped out several channels. Currently they have no guide data.

Can you please report these changes for zip code 56515?

UHF 509 Mhz:

20.1 "Escape" (previously Heartland)

20.2 "Newsmax"

20.3 "C-SPAN"

20.4 "MSNBC"

20.5 "Automotive TV"

UHF 515 Mhz:

K21GND3, 21.3, is now "Grit" (previously Action TV)
K21GND5, 21.5 is now "Laff" (previously Retro TV)

thanks

For 509 what are the changes to report?

No guide data, they are from the FCC repack last year. They were previously on channels 50.1 through 50.5 (I don't recall the UHF frequency)

I can remap them easily enough to the old data but anyone new to the area would not know they were moved. One of them changed programming too, so mapping to the old station numbers doesn't work for it.

@@Luke I hid these away while guide data was wrong, looking at them again today it looks unchanged. Can you send this through again? Local OTA for zip code 56515

SiliconDust has no data for these in their app either. I'll start a thread with them too...

What's a reasonable amount of time for a correction from guide supplier?

Hi.  Q from GN:

What call letters are associated with the following?

UHF 509 Mhz:

20.1 "Escape" (previously Heartland)

20.2 "Newsmax"

20.3 "C-SPAN"

20.4 "MSNBC"

20.5 "Automotive TV"

Hi. Q from GN:

K20AC-D, previously K50DBD

Also it looks like 20.5 already changed again to "Bounce" network instead of Automotive network

Here's how HDHR captures the individual callsigns outside of the FCC 'K20AC-D' label

RabbitEars website looks out of date? *shrug*

These are updated now however not sure if a coincidence but 3 other channels had their data disappear at or around the same time. Completely gone from the channel mapping, not just blank/empty guide.

This provider has a lot of callsigns flipping around, might be confusing for GN...

9.4 Buzzr

9.5 LIGHTtv

9.9 Fox 9

Current callsign is: K33DB-D

Again this is for OTA zip 56515c8b73723a9cf092654730a5d42e9b829.jpg

Let's give them a couple days and see if this corrects itself.  If not, let us know here and we will hit them up again.

Thanks.

Okay, I reported it to them.  Seems like a pretty inefficient process for them to get these updates from end users... ;)

I agree but fwiw it was no different when TiVo used GN, they even have an online form to submit changes. For the few minutes I used Plex for live TV they had also created a form to forward the information along.

I'm fairly rural and this station is paid for by member donations where they then purchase programming for re-transmission, they don't have nightly news or any real facilities. I doubt they have any clue about contacting GN themselves, anytime I see them post online it's very basic "you might have to run the channel scan on your TV set" type statements.

I did notice a recent programming change for a larger NBC affiliate out of Minneapolis (that transmits from a satellite tower near me), that lineup was changed almost immediately in the guide data.

That could have been the affiliate taking care of it or just the fact more users in the large metro area, so someone reported to GN right away.

Thanks for passing it along.

What do you think is an appropriate amount of time for correction?

Posted

Are you saying they haven't fixed the ones I've already reported?

Posted

The answer for why it takes them a while to update these sometimes is that they cannot simply take our word for it.  They have to confirm all this information with the FCC.  So, the delay is probably self-explanatory there... :)

Sure okay but in this case it was there, they removed it randomly and what about taking the broadcasters word for it? http://selectivetv.org/channel-line-up/

It's great we have this now so no more separate fee with Schedules Direct but man this is lame, SD support would fix this in about 24-48 hours.
