The intel graphics drivers is i915 with linux kernel 5.10. and there is no monitor connected to hdmi port.

i try both connected and disconnect again and restart NAS, it dosen't help

This weekend after I update redpill loader to 24.10.0 and emby to 4.8.10.0, the problem solved.

I am not sure which update was related....

在4.7.14下一切正常，升级到4.8之后无法硬解，转码界面可以看到独立显卡，但是硬解不工作。 黑群晖SA6400 7.2，独显为GTX1650 这是在4.9.0.30的记录

Everything worked fine on version 4.7.14, but after upgrading to version 4.8, hardware decoding stopped working. The transcoding interface shows the dedicated GPU, but hardware decoding doesn't function.

Using XPEnology SA6400 7.2 with a GTX 1650 GPU.

This is based on my experience with version 4.9.0.30.

Hi, the 3 transcodes above are all the same.  This media file has a bitrate of 26MB, resolution of 3840x1608, HDR10, both eac3 & Atmos audio tracks, 40+ ass & subrip Subtitles.
The transcode is trying scale the video from 3840x1608 to 1920x804, tone map HDR to SDR,, as well as extract a set of subtitles.

The logs show the subtitle extraction completed and then a quit.

There's a lot going on here and we need to simplify what's taking place.

Please try playing a 1080 video that has no subtitles.  On the client you can click the cog icon, then go into quality and choose a 720 resolution/bitrate entry.  That will force a transcode so we can see if basic hardware transcoding is working on not.

Let us know what happens so we can determine the next step.
If it fails, upload the server and ffmpeg logs.

This is the same as before with subtitles present in the media.
I'm asking you to playback a file that contains no subtitles in the media.

Your logs all show pgssub subtitles present in the media. These pgssub subs are what seems to be the source of your issue and what stops the transcoder.

The transcoder for example shows this:
"02:04:23.789 [matroska,webm @ 0x1ef1580] Could not find codec parameters for stream 2 (Subtitle: hdmv_pgs_subtitle (pgssub)): unspecified size"

That would seem to indicate the file is using webm packaging but is not using streams compatible with that format. Webm is a subset of Matroska created by Google for streaming and it does not support graphical subtitles.

You should try using MKVToolNix on one of these files t see if it can fix or change the format properly to a container compatible with the streams it will contain.

It's not a matter of turning off/disabling  the subtitles, but the fact they are in the media file.  "These files have the subtitles embedded and the transcode stops about the time it gets to them. The previous step is a "setsar" (filter used to set the Display Aspect Ratio). It seems to fail on the setsar or when it gets to the subs. We did rule out it being related to WebM as these were mp4 this time.

So, I'm trying to figure out which is the problem.  Let's try something and we will only use this file: "Tokidoki Bosotto Russia-go de Dereru Tonari no Alya-san - S1E01.mp4"

I'd like you to download the 3 top files (4th optional). You can unzip all of them to a new folder name "Matroska". These are the reference tools from the website of the team who gave us Matroska & WebM packages. 
Run mkvalidator.on your media file.
Did you get any warnings or errors?
Regardless of any errors, run mkclearn on the media files.
Run mkvalidator.on your media file one more time.  It should not give any errors this time.

It's not a big deal, but we need to change a couple settings to raise the number. The inotify process is a message the OS send all program when a file is change in any way. Emby listens for inotify message when you have "Enable real time monitoring" turned on in a library.

Just follow the instructions in this post and this will be taken care of.

I finally found some files without any subtitles at all. I discovered that 1080p files can transcode normally, but 1440p files still fail to play. So, is it caused by the subtitles?

Create a directory called MKVTools in your C root path.
Unzip the files to that directory
Open a command prompt and switch directories to c:\MKVTools

type mkvalidator -h
or mkclean -h

to get the command line to use with any options. I typically use:
mkvalidator --details "name of file with full path"
mkclean "name of file with full path"

mkvalidator will tell you if it's a valid file. It may not be using proper tags or elements correctly however.
That's where mkclean comes in. It will; rewrite the file optimizing it as well.

Here's an example of what mkclean output on an mkv file.
The Range element at 530 is not part of profile 'matroska v2', skipping
The ChromaSitingVert element at 538 is not part of profile 'matroska v2', skipping
The Colour element at 527 is not part of profile 'matroska v2', skipping

There has been a bump in Nvidia driver version requirements after server 4.7 versions. Please go to the Nivida website and install the latest drivers from there.

After upgrading from version 4.7 to 4.8, hardware decoding stopped working. I started a thread asking about this issue on July 9, 2024.

我使用了更换硬件的方法解决了问题，购买了一个新nas，使用N100的核显进行转码，一切就正常了。 虽然没能解决问题，但是感谢大家的帮助和解答
 

I solved the issue by replacing the hardware. I purchased a new NAS and used the N100 integrated graphics for transcoding, and everything is now working fine.

Although the original issue wasn't resolved, I sincerely appreciate everyone's help and support.
