Thanks for the feedback @@DutchDK, that is certainly something we've considered and could be a factor.

 

Open Subtitles is using Cloudflare as their CDN, which adds another dimension.

@@solabc16 I come back, I am willing to try the beta please let me know how to update my emby server.  

I don't think the problem is in ISP since Plex is working well with subtitle download from opensubtitles in the same NAS.

Hello All

 

I've been discussing this with Open Subtitles and with the help of community members here, we've made some progress.

 

The end point 'api.opensubtitles.org' should be being delivered exclusively by Cloudflare's CDN.

 

However, in certain cases we're not seeing the expected IP addresses being returned in response to DNS queries.

 

These are the currently published records :-

 

 

If you are having this problem, please can you reply here the IP address returned when you try to 'ping' the host 'api.opensubtitles.org' and also the DNS server(s) you are using.

 

You don't have to do this from your NAS, you can do it from any machine as long as it's using the same ISP and DNS servers.

 

Please feel free to PM me if you don't want to post this information publicly.

I tried ping api.opensubtitles.org from my PC and what i got as below:

My PC ipconfig:

   DNS 服务器  . . . . . . . . . . . : 101.198.198.198

                                       192.168.2.1

 

 

as I said before, emby server (PC version) is working well in my PC. but even I set the same network configuration in NAS, it still can not download subtitles from opensubtitles
