Happy2Play 9229 Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 You followed the wiki, correct? https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Running%20Emby%20Server%20as%20a%20Windows%20Service
Luke 39008 Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 Hi, yes it works just fine, please make sure to follow the instructions in our wiki. Please let us know if this helps. thanks !
RobWayBro 27 Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 Here is what I have run across when using it. I have all my media on an external NAS, so the service has to start with a user that has permission to access the NAS, or whatever external media you are using.
agood 0 Posted October 4, 2018 Author Posted October 4, 2018 Thanks, Luke. Yes I followed the wiki and the instructions. Still, the service does not start with Windows....(Windows 10, 64 bit, 1709 build)
KMBanana 104 Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Could you post screenshots of your NSSM application tab for when you set up the service?
austie 3 Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 @@Luke Is there a way to still get the NSSM? Or is there an alternative way to get Emby to start as a service?
Luke 39008 Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 It's on chocolatey: https://chocolatey.org/packages/NSSM Although make sure to read the user comments because there are some complaints. We'd like to make another go of how we'd handle windows service integration, but i can't say when that might happen.
pwhodges 1770 Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 I don't know about complaints; I've been using nssm on multiple machines (on servers at work as well as at home) for many years and have never had a single problem with it.
Happy2Play 9229 Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 Looks like it is archived also. https://web.archive.org/web/20190817194316/https://nssm.cc/download
