Riggs 300
Looking at the "two" log and the server log, it looks like it's trying to burn-in the subrip stream...and I have no clue why. This should be a remux at worst since the subrip stream is selected. The file info dump at the top of the transcode log looks accurate - index 2 is subrip with IsTextSubtitleStream is true and index 3 is PGSSUB with IsTextSubtitleStream is false. I'm wondering if the client or server is either checking the wrong subtitle track for compatibility or assuming that the presence of a PGS sub track in the file despite it not being selected for presentation means all subs should be burned in. Could it be that the entire file is flagged as "unsupported subtitles" because of that one track...just in case someone tries to switch mid-playback? To some extent, I could understand if that was true so that playback doesn't seem to stall (or fail) if someone changes tracks to an unsupported codec, but it seems like counterintuitive behaviour when one of the two subtitle formats is supported and it happens to be the one that's selected for playback. Let me do a multiplex of the same file without the english pgs to see what happend

Waldonnis 148
Thanks, I was actually curious about this blurb and if it may cause a problem. [matroska, webm @ 00000231bcfbf440] Could not find codec parameters for stream 3 (Subtitle: hdmv_pgs_subtitle (pgssub)): unspecified size Ah, hmm, not that I know of, but there may be something with how the track was constructed. If there are problems with timing or overlapping, though, it may require -fix_sub_duration (has some drawbacks, so check the docs). I've never run across problems like that and don't deal with PGS subs too often, though, so there may be some other reason for it aside from the situation mentioned in the ffmpeg docs.
Riggs 300
I leave here the srt sub of that file, there's not overlapping in timing. I check it with SubtittleEdit soft. Allowing subs on the fly: You can wach the movie on Roku. In the PC too but with many issues in the picture. However, in that way you CAN'T see the .srt... they just are not displaying. BUT any king of PGS has no problems. Plus, the ffmpeg doesn't crash. Not allowing subs on the fly is the opposite. Can see the srt subtitles after some minutes waiting and the hard drive working like crazy. PGS doesn't display in any way. Most of the tie is impossible that the movie start to play, no matter if the server says that is direct playing, is not. Happend the same with Roku (4 ULTRA) and with Chrome web browser. I test other files of my collection and the situation is the same. PLUS... IF the MKV movie container have 1 srt sub and 1 pgs, the server don't know what sub is the default. For me, it is a server side problem since Chrome is showing the same issue. Thanks. EDIT: Btw i do the ocr to the pgs file of that movie too with SubtitleEdit, I don't find nothing wrong. EDIT: Btw i do the ocr to the pgs file of that movie too with SubtitleEdit, I don't find nothing wrong. Yeah, I meant with the PGS. It's not that there's a timing issue in the stream, but rather that ffmpeg's rendering/representation of them may get weird if non-text subtitle streams are constructed in certain ways. Subtitle editors and disc players know how to deal with these types of variations already, but they're more specialised than ffmpeg in that regard. Basically, even if the subtitle stream is within spec, that doesn't mean ffmpeg always knows how to handle it properly (there's a lot of stuff that ffmpeg doesn't do or doesn't do well, actually). The message from ffmpeg about stream 3 implies that something about the stream is different than what ffmpeg knows about or is capable of dealing with. Doesn't mean the subtitle stream is messed up...just that ffmpeg probably hasn't been coded to identify/handle that specific situation properly yet.
