Hello ...

I am looking for an app (iPhone iOS 7.1) that can access my music collection on my PC and play it on my PC, so ... it lists my entire library with the possibility to start playing on my PC. The closest I can come to such an app is Microsoft Remote Desktop (iOS) Well, I do not need to stream anything. Like free app;)

By default RDP apps will "Play audio on local device" , you will have to be sure to change the setting to "Play audio on server". Remember your monitor will not be able to see anything (just the lock screen) while the RDP client is logged in. A local user at the computer would have to login again to do anything.

But otherwise this is a valid approach and should be cheap if not free depending on the RDP app you find to use.

I use iTap Mobile and it's a paid app, but its great and supports RD Gateways ( for work)

Even better is just use the Remote feature of the MB3 system.

Basically open firefox or chrome to MB3 web interface on your desktop computer.

Then on any mobile device, you can choose to play the media to your Chrome or Firefox session on your desktop, instead of the mobile device.

iTunes Remote... Until MB3 has playlists, I continue to use iTunes and Spotify for music playback. With the remote app on my phone, I can control andy iTunes device in the house. Would be nice to eventually replace this with a "MediaBrowser Radio" app.
