Episodes stopped before their end

Recommended Posts

With the latest version of emby on the Apple TV (4th gen) every episodes stops about 5 to maybe 10 seconds (maybe even more) before the video’s real end. Even trying to manually skip to the point of the episode where emby quits the plaback doesnt help. emby shows the correct video length but is just stopping playback too early.

This is really annoying as it kills every cliffhanger.

Any suggestions?

With the latest version of emby on the Apple TV

Just to confirm has this always been the case or did this start happening with the new release this week? Can you confirm if these episodes work fine in the webapp or another client like iOS?

Thanks!

All episodes generally do play as expected within iOS Apps on iPad and iPhone, they also do in the webapp. I realized the behavior of quitting video playback too early on ATV’s emby also before the last update but it s never been as "dramatic" as this time.

The example I am referring to has an original length of 55.36 and stopped at about 53:16 (log file) to 53:40 (which is my personal feeling but I might be wrong), which means not just a few seconds, as I was describing earlier, but about 2 minutes too early.

I included a log file and can widen up testing on ATV to other episodes to get you more valid infos that you can work with if you like. Just give me a quick note.

Luke

We're going to be giving the app a whole new video player soon so let's reevaluate then.

A workaround in the meantime is to lower the in app quality setting to force a full video transcode. Thanks.
