Luke 40078 Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 yes for individual audio book files, many apps already do. I think you're thinking of a list of files composed as a single audio book and that's different.
daedalus 430 Posted June 30, 2018 Author Posted June 30, 2018 so we have some default file based resume
jhoff80 93 Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 I don't have an iPhone or iPad so I can't test this myself. However, I've been told it's now gotten even worse. Apparently, in-file progress is not being saved anymore at all. I'm on server 3.4.1.31, so I can start a thread in the Server Testing area if you think it should be split out from this thread.

It's impossible to have gotten worse because we never added it in the first place to iOS. Therefore don't believe what you hear. In the apps that have implemented it, I just did a quick test and it is working just fine. Therefore I think we can conclude that nothing has gotten worse, right?
jhoff80 93 Posted July 12, 2018 Posted July 12, 2018 Based on what I've been told, it previously saved the in-file progress (viewable as a progress bar), but didn't let you resume from your last position. Still, the user would be able to manually use the visual progress to estimate how far into the file they were. Now, it doesn't even save that.
Luke 40078 Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 We haven't gotten to that at all for the iOS app, so I don't believe it was ever there. We'll try to look at it soon. Thanks.

Therefore I think we can conclude that nothing has gotten worse, right? what app has implemented it? cause i can't see any saved "in-file progress" neither on the web client, nor in emby theater and also not in the android app
Happy2Play 9441 Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 what app has implemented it? cause i can't see any saved "in-file progress" neither on the web client, nor in emby theater and also not in the android app I know the beta server 3.6.0.xx does. example from ET.
daedalus 430 Posted November 4, 2018 Author Posted November 4, 2018 (edited) running 3.6.0.59 beta here and not seeing this Edited November 4, 2018 by daedalus
Luke 40078 Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 Can you give an example of what should be showing there? thanks.
daedalus 430 Posted November 4, 2018 Author Posted November 4, 2018 i want to see what @Happy2Play shows in the screenshot, in-file progress for audio files here emby is not saving any progress on audio files aside from that, i want some sort of mark on the played tracks within an album and be able to mark albums as "watched" (should be named "listened" on audio files) atm i can't see/do any of this
Luke 40078 Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 So you listened to something you are expecting to resume? What was that?
daedalus 430 Posted November 4, 2018 Author Posted November 4, 2018 (edited) 45min length, jumped into the middle, let it play for couple seconds, exit app was unsure about the stop button (only way to stop playback, cause audio continues in background) to not save it by design, but tested anyways, also no playstate saved same behavior saves the playstate correctly for a video file Edited November 4, 2018 by daedalus
Luke 40078 Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 this is with the web app in an audio book library?
daedalus 430 Posted November 4, 2018 Author Posted November 4, 2018 works neither on music nor audiobook library, nor in emby theater, nor the web client, nor android app
Luke 40078 Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 Works for me here in the web app with an audio book library. Tested, no problem found.
Luke 40078 Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 This is a song, but it's in an audio book test library. Do you still feel that it's not working?
daedalus 430 Posted November 4, 2018 Author Posted November 4, 2018 (edited) ok found the cause, problem where 2 libraries, one music, one audiobook, pointing on the same location even if each one was hidden by the user access settings, something gets quirked up sry for bothering Edited November 4, 2018 by daedalus
