yes for individual audio book files, many apps already do. I think you're thinking of a list of files composed as a single audio book and that's different.

Yes exactly.

I don't have an iPhone or iPad so I can't test this myself.  However, I've been told it's now gotten even worse.  Apparently, in-file progress is not being saved anymore at all.  I'm on server 3.4.1.31, so I can start a thread in the Server Testing area if you think it should be split out from this thread.

It's impossible to have gotten worse because we never added it in the first place to iOS. Therefore don't believe what you hear.

In the apps that have implemented it, I just did a quick test and it is working just fine. Therefore I think we can conclude that nothing has gotten worse, right?

Based on what I've been told, it previously saved the in-file progress (viewable as a progress bar), but didn't let you resume from your last position.  Still, the user would be able to manually use the visual progress to estimate how far into the file they were.  Now, it doesn't even save that.

We haven't gotten to that at all for the iOS app, so I don't believe it was ever there. We'll try to look at it soon. Thanks.

Can you give an example of what should be showing there? thanks.

i want to see what @Happy2Play shows in the screenshot, in-file progress for audio files

here emby is not saving any progress on audio files

aside from that, i want some sort of mark on the played tracks within an album and be able to mark albums as "watched" (should be named "listened" on audio files)

atm i can't see/do any of this

So you listened to something you are expecting to resume? What was that?

Posted

how long was it? where did you stop?

Posted (edited)

45min length, jumped into the middle, let it play for couple seconds, exit app

was unsure about the stop button (only way to stop playback, cause audio continues in background) to not save it by design, but tested anyways, also no playstate saved

same behavior saves the playstate correctly for a video file

works neither on music nor audiobook library, nor in emby theater, nor the web client, nor android app

Works for me here in the web app with an audio book library. Tested, no problem found.

This is a song, but it's in an audio book test library.

Do you still feel that it's not working?

Posted (edited)

ok found the cause, problem where 2 libraries, one music, one audiobook, pointing on the same location

even if each one was hidden by the user access settings, something gets quirked up

sry for bothering
