Niazniaz 0 Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Hey I can't seem to remote connect to my Emby server. I went through the connectivity guide, and set up port forwarding but still hasn't helped. I want to double check if the port forwarding I've done is correct. My router is the Tenda 11N. Here are the settings: When I tried the http://www.canyouseeme.org/ test I got this result: Error: I could not see your service on 103.85.207.48 on port (8096)Reason: No route to host FYI I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to network setups so please explain your statements. Thank you.
Luke 38825 Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 hi, are you able to connect with other devices while inside your home network?
Niazniaz 0 Posted January 26, 2018 Author Posted January 26, 2018 Yes, I can connect when they're all on the same network, but can't remote connect
Luke 38825 Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Well in your screenshot it looks like you're forwarding traffic on port 8096 to two different ip addresses? that's not going to work. Just use the ip address of the machine running emby server. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
Niazniaz 0 Posted January 28, 2018 Author Posted January 28, 2018 The ip address of the machine running the is the one that ends with 103. I let that be the only rule there and tried again, but same result, Reason: No route to host Any other ideas?
Luke 38825 Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 @@Abobader or @@pir8radio have you worked with this kind of router before?
pir8radio 1302 Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 (edited) @@Abobader or @@pir8radio have you worked with this kind of router before? No, but like you said the .1 line should not be there... Who is your ISP? EDIT: never mind it looks like you are in India, is it possible your ISP is blocking inbound connections? Some Cellular and other ISP's put their customers behind a NAT which doesn't allow inbound connections unless you request them with the ISP. Edited January 28, 2018 by pir8radio 1
Niazniaz 0 Posted January 30, 2018 Author Posted January 30, 2018 Alright thanks, I'll contact my isp and see what I can do. But how did you know that I was in India?

Niazniaz 0 Posted February 1, 2018 Author Posted February 1, 2018 (edited) I tried contacting them, but they weren't giving any concrete answers. They said that I would need a static ip and that would cost more, so I looked alternatives to it, and came across no-ip.com. I'll setup a DDNS or whatever and try again. EDIT: Talked them again, they said that it was working on the static ip? And that they would contact my operator and call back. EDIT 2: I talked to them and they said that I need a static ip address for it to work. Do you guys know any alternatives? Thanks. Edited February 1, 2018 by Niazniaz

I still think you may be behind a NAT, they want to give you a real internet IP of your own. Just using a dynamic DNS service wont help you. I don't know what your ISP options are out there... If they are using NAT im guessing you don't have many to pick from?
Fratopolis 62 Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Never seen a tracert do this before. Yes, they're the best isp where I live. I guess I'll have to sign up for a static ip, but first, can somebody explain what Fratopolis's post was about?
vaise 324 Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 I think this sort of thing may happen more and more with ISP's going to CGNAT'ing : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrier-grade_NAT
