Popular Post dcook 289 Posted March 7, 2017 Popular Post Posted March 7, 2017 Feature Request: Have User Groups and all settings applied at the Group Level That way you can just assign users to the appropriate Group and all settings will be inheritated. 98 4
Luke 40064 Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 I think this is a nice idea. We are actively monitoring this for community feedback, with respect to all of the other open feature requests, thanks !

godfuture 5 Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Also interested! I have to configure media deletion and media access all over again, even a group would do it all with one click
VirtualEmby 1 Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 Sad to see this one sitting out here for 2 years and not implemented yet.
BillOatman 575 Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 (edited) Sad to see this one sitting out here for 2 years and not implemented yet. 30 people "liked" the original post. Personally I don't see any value to it unless you were running a commercial server and selling subscriptions and divided people up into porn/no-porn and so on. I'd prefer the developers limited resources spent on features more useful to the majority of users. Edited March 8, 2019 by BillOatman 1

I'd prefer the developers limited resources spent on features more useful to the majority of users. ...Or people have friends and family they would like to easily add with certain options automatically. Just because you don't find value in it doesn't mean the other 30+ people who would find it useful shouldn't. Sure, people who sell their servers would profit from it, but so would everyone else who wanted to feature too. And no, it wouldn't be too hard to implement. The developers have had enough resources to have implemented this by now.

VirtualEmby 1 Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 Exactly. You could even have groups for kids, adults, teens, etc. Exactly. I have 4 small kids, it would be nice to group all their settings together instead of editing them individually. 1
Lighthammer 85 Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Will repost here: BIGGEST 2020 WISH - USER GROUPS For those coming from the Windows NT environments and environments that borrow from this practice, you're probably very familiar with User Groups. User Groups is something that's VERY overdue for Emby. Essential I feel Emby Server Owners / Managers need the ability to assign users to given user groups to be given at least the following: - Administration Panel Rights - Library / Channel Access Rights - Library Management Rights - Transcoding Rights - Remote / Local Streaming Rights - Device Rights - Camera Upload Access - Download Access - Hide from Login Screen Note to Admins:While a topic on User Groups appears to exist:https://emby.media/c...l=+user +groupsThis appears to be a very different sort of user groups then that thread. As stated, this intended to be the user group management similar to the Windows NT and/or Active Directory Services. The post closest to this thread that is similar appears to be this thread: https://emby.media/c...l= user groupsThe topic has been stale with no major input on design and thus this thread. Please merge the threads if merited, but a fresh discussion on this topic appears to be in order.---This feature is very much a requirement to keep us sane managing our users. 2
