williamethan 1 Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 I am not able to connect to my server locally unless I switch my firewall off in Avast. Then everything works fine. In my Avast settings, I have the following Application rule, but it's still not working. Any ideas?
Jdiesel 1242 Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Not familiar with Avast!'s firewall software as I tend to stick with Windows built in firewall. Is the rule being linked to the EmbyServer.exe or is it a gobal rule to open those ports?
Happy2Play 9140 Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 When you say locally are you referring to the same machine the server is on or any machine on your LAN?
Solution williamethan 1 Posted December 14, 2016 Author Solution Posted December 14, 2016 I believe the rule is applied to the application. I've also created a packet rule that should make those ports generally open. And by locally I mean devices connected to my home wireless network. Everything shows up fine on the machine the server is on. At any rate, I think I fixed it. In my Avast Network profiles my home wireless had been designated "Public, High Risk" rather than "Private." Now that it's "Private" everything seems to be working. 1
