Rowlett 9 Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Hi Guys, fantastic how MB3's coming along!! just wanted to make you aware not sure if it's just me but since the adding of the transcoding options etc i seem to get slight tearing in the video on the web client, it doesn't skip/stutter at all and it seems to be any video extension type, it may be my setup but i have tried changing settings but still get it now and again. it's only a slight tearing just thought i'd let you know. tried all variations of transcoding server side, high cpu/low/auto and web client 720p - 1.5 upto 10Mbps. Current Versions MB3 Server: 3.0.5131.34392 Browser: Chrome 32.0.1700.95 Running on Hardware: OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials CPU: Intel i7 4770K running idle apart from mb3 streaming
robertn78 0 Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I have noticed this too in the web client. I am using Chrome also. What is your client computer? Is it your server? It works great in MB Theater.
Kelmino 17 Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I also started noticing this after the latest update from Media Browser server Current Versions MB3 Server: Version 3.0.5131.18923 Browser: Chrome 32.0.1700.77 Client MacBook Pro laptop over wireless N (450mb) I'm able to watch stuff at 720p 1.5Mbs but it has some noticeable artifacts here and there, anything above that it's almost completely unwatchable. I have not tried any other browsers besides Chrome yet.
Kelmino 17 Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I've decided to move onto the Dev builds, I figure I'm always itching for an update from MB3 and I always seem to have an issue with something (always minor) that I might be able to help a bit with some of my bug reports. On Dev build Version 3.0.5132.25302 I seem to have no issue with the tearing using 5Mbs or lower on both 720p and 1080p videos that I've noticed so far.
Luke 39655 Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 that's purely a coincidence then because there's nothing that's changed in two days that could affect that
Rowlett 9 Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 @@robertn78 no it was a windows 7 PC over the net, i tend to use MBT on the server (server is connected to PC)
Tikuf 663 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 @@Kelmino Latest dev server has a fix for this. Can you lmk how it goes for you please.
Kelmino 17 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Just updated. Didn't auto update like the rest. Not sure how much we'll get to watch tonight, hopefully a show or two and I'll be able to report back. Thanks Over the last couple of days I've noticed some pausing and some video tearing but not too much, I've been messing with a few things on my end here and there to see if it's something on my end. It's not every video giving me issues, so I've just been tweaking a few things here and there.
Rowlett 9 Posted January 25, 2014 Author Posted January 25, 2014 @@Tikuf, can confirm still seeing issue still occurring in latest version Thanks
Kelmino 17 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 The tearing has improved a lot over the last couple of dev updates. I can now watch things mostly at 5mb's without any issues. Anything over that though and it's right back to the choppy viewing. Now the issue I'm having is I'm getting frequent pausing again, I was watching an hour long TV show the other night and I ended up having to keep changing the quality to unpause the show, it didn't start happening until later on in the show (Maybe 40 into the 60 minutes) though where when it happened a few weeks ago it was happening consistently 30 seconds into the show. But that's probably an issue for another thread
