wgray 1 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I can get 5.1 from my Fire TV via Kodi and Netflix, but all I've been able to get from the Emby app is stereo. I see posts indicating it is possible, but I can find any settings in the app or on the server side.
ebr 15575 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Right now, it is limited to the 2nd gen version but, hopefully, when the 1st gen gets Fire OS 5, it will work on them too. 1
andstein85 6 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I have the 2nd gen Fire TV and have confirmed that I still only get stereo from the Emby app despite it saying its streaming direct/v. With Kodi though, I'm able to pass DTS and Dolby Digital without issue. But I hate Kodi's interface and the fact that Amazon has made it entirely too difficult to launch the Kodi App from the 2nd gen FireTV's makes it that much more unappealing. I'm rooting for you guys, but sadly, I get the feeling this is probably going to hinge on a release from the VLC developers moreso than the Emby team. 3

DTS should come across fine in multi-channel.
