I'm out at the minute so I can't respond to allbut just read your bit about the ssl. I mentioned before that i don't put the http:// in mine, I bet if you add that to yours, it will kick the box into just a standard connection rather than a https. A quick read over the roku client code would give you a definite but I can't do that either at the min, being out and all.

Yes I was also thinking the same, maybe I should have left http:// in there. I'll have to try that later then as out of time now.

Just this issue with the back button now and sometimes having to press it more than once to get back to where its meant to be taking you.

Cheers

Hi

If I put http://mydomain.com in the ServerScreens.brs file then it works OK and all the artwork images are then loaded fine. Don't know why you don't get any images loading when its connected on https?

However it still doesn't seem to make much difference as far as the Now TV box "losing" its connection to Emby. As today when I opened the Emby app on the new box it does not automatically display any content. you have to go to Manage Server and select the server name in the next screen and then click Connect to server etc, only then does the content appear.

Will have to teach the parents how to do this unless there is a solution?

Thanks

Yeah all that will do is set the default entries to those that you set, but it will require them to actually click the buttons to prompt the connection if its dropped out for one reason or another. Just saves a lot of time typing out the same address every time it fails.

OK I see what you mean now.

It seems every time I go to their house I have to connect the Emby app up again, so not sure what causes it to disconnect. The Now TV boxes are left turned on all the time and my server is up 24/7 unless I reboot it.

Thanks

do they make sure they press home on the remote after each session to just close the client down? That's just about the only thing i can think of.

My remote users generally only get a problem if the server has gone offline, their/my internet is offline and they have tried to connect, then, once it is all back online, they get prompted to enter all of the server connection details again.

Well I know I always exit the Emby app and return to the home screen. The house has actually been empty this week so I know no one has been using the Now TV boxes since my last visit when I installed the new black box.

Will make sure they know to exit to home screen as well when finished with their session.

Thanks.

Hi guys, looking for advice.

I have 3 old NOWTV boxes comfortably and stably running RARPLEX clients connecting to PLEX Server. I've just got a new balck nowTV2 box, but would liek to be able to use the USB2 on this as well.

From what I have read Roku Emby can do this - but the wife and kids have got used to PLEX....

Can I configure an EMBY ROKU client to talk to my PLEX Server (or even DNLA access would do) and have USB access on the NOWTV ?

Couldn't get past the server config screen when I sideloaded the latest build ...

Any ideas gratefully received...

Thanks, must have got myself confused as I thought the EMBY Roku client was the official ROKU Media Server client - which from what I read supports USB ?

connectivity is not an issue if it doesnt enable USB as well, as I might as well just run plex ...

would consider a wholesale switch form plex to EMBY across all the boxes if need be ...
