socalredneck 11
Hey y'all, I've been running the app for a while on my tv's (50H6201 & 32H5203), I think the last release I was using was about 0.520. I decided to upgrade to the latest version 0.550, but I'm running into problems. I've tried to re-load the app a several times over the past 2 days, but it's not loading. In fact it removed the older version from my tv right away, so now I don't have it loaded. I've gone through the process of loging into Dev mode, entering the ip setting, going back in and selecting "Start App Sync", but it never loads. I've unplugged the tv's for about a minute, and then retried to load the app, but still no luck. What am I missing, any suggestions? Thanks! p.s., It's a great app!!! Thank you all for developing it into what it is and what it will be! Edited February 18, 2015 by socalredneck
DaN 47
Did you change the IP? DaN
c0m3r 95
When you say it isnt loading, do you mean it doesnt appear in your list of apps? Quick question and might sound daft but is the first page of apps full? If so, you have to manually move to the second page on H series TVs. I didnt notice this at first and also thought it hadnt installed.
FrostByte 5139
On my F series tv during installation I always have to reenter the install server ip even if it's already there. If I don't do that then after I hit app sync it just sits there and never installs. If I reenter the ip it installs without a hitch every time. Always just figured it was a Samsung issue
bertbert72 14
Might also be worth checking what IP address you are using. Can't remember which release it was that changed to the Mediabrowser servers, but it was probably around the .520 version
socalredneck 11
Did you change the IP? DaN I used the 173.230.139.54 from the pinned install thread. When you say it isnt loading, do you mean it doesnt appear in your list of apps? Quick question and might sound daft but is the first page of apps full? If so, you have to manually move to the second page on H series TVs. I didnt notice this at first and also thought it hadnt installed. Good thought, but no, I've really only have just a few apps loaded on the tv's.
socalredneck 11
Something I just thought of, both tv's had a Samsung update in the last week or so. Dang, I didn't think about that until just now, could that be related to my problem?
socalredneck 11
Still not able to re-load the app. If I reset the Smart Hub will that let me now re-install the app?
cragjagged 44
Can you confirm if you can browse successfully to this URL http://173.230.139.54/widgetlist.xml from the TV web browser. You should see a line that is something like the below MediaBrowser3 http://173.230.139.54/Widget/MediaBrowser3_0.550_Europe_20150210.zip
socalredneck 11
Yes, I was able to see the URL with the browser. Attached is a pic of what was displayed. I went ahead and did Smarthub reset. Unplugged the power cord, tried to install the app, but nothing. I went back to the browser and was able to see the same thing on the URL. I've had it running before on these tv's. I don't think I'm doing anything different then what the instructions say. Once I've entered the IP setting and select Ok, do I need to wait any set time before going right back into the options menu to select Start App Sync, or should I do it all quickly? Does anything like that matter? Is there another way to install the app?
cragjagged 44
That's odd, that XML file is what tells the TV to download so that eliminates the TV not being able to connect to the download site. The amount of time between setting the IP and performing an app sync shouldn't matter. The only things I can see being an issue now are that either something on your internet connectivity is preventing the TV from downloading the ZIP file (some broadband routers have "security" services in them), or that the software version of the your TVs is causing the issue. App sync is currently the only way that I know of to install the app, the only thing that could be possibly worth a try is to host the the widgetlist.xml and ZIP file on a webserver on your local network and use those IP details instead to try and narrow down if it's the TV or internet connectivity causing the issue. It depends how tech savvy you are around doing something like that though.
socalredneck 11
I've done a factory reset on the tv, but no luck. I'm leaning towards the router blocking the download. I'll have to look into it to see if it's setting have changed or something. Worse case I'll try to set up the local IP and try that. I hope the Samsung update didn't change something to keep me from downloading to the tv. Thanks for your help and suggestions.
chessdragon136 677
If it helps (shouldnt be needed) but add an exception rule on your router (temporarily) for port 45634 as that is the communication port
socalredneck 11
Sorry, but that didn't help either. Bummer. I see that "bacardi222" is having the same issue with the exact same model of tv. If it tried to contact Samsung, would they offer any suggestions? Simply2Cool 3
I was running the mediabrowser app on my 32H5203 until this week. The app quit working so I uninstalled and hoped to reinstall using 173.230.139.54. The app will not reinstall. Is it possible that Samsung has blocked this app? socalredneck 11
I have two Samsung tv's, 50H6201 & 32H5203, both had Samsung updates early this month. Both tv's show that they have software update version 1114. I think this is when all my trouble started. Does anyone have contacts with someone at Samsung to find out what happened? I miss the Media Browser app real bad. Edited February 18, 2015 by socalredneck

FrostByte 5139
Ok, there must be different version numbers for different countries then. On the Samsung US page there is a "?" next to the download link that has these updates
