Kyras 2 Posted March 28 Posted March 28 When we play HDR videos, we usually set the brightness to the maximum, which makes white subtitles appear too glaring. Therefore, I hope Emby can automatically adjust subtitle colors to a darker shade when playing HDR videos. I understand that different playback devices may affect color rendering, so it would be convenient if we could manually adjust subtitle colors directly in the playback interface and see the changes in real time. This way, I could set a suitable color for the subtitles without having to go into the settings. Additionally, I hope the color adjustment is not limited to a few preset options but allows for full custom color selection.
crusher11 953 Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Simply capping the entire OSD at a certain nit value, as Kodi does, would be better.
Kyras 2 Posted March 28 Author Posted March 28 Is it possible to lock the OSD at maximum brightness on Android, iOS devices, and the web?

crusher11 953 Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Not at present, but Emby could create the option. Kodi has. It affects not only subtitles, but every part of the interface. Even if you dimmed the subtitles, the play bar, icons, etc. would be too bright. Of course, it would have to avoid touching PGS subtitles, which will already be appropriately dimmed unless the disc was badly authored (which a number have been, to be fair, and I've had to go in and manually dim those subtitles and remux).
