mighty_spiky 1 Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Hi, I use live TV with Emby along its recording capability. I regularly record new episodes of a specific public affairs TV series named "24/60" from Radio-Canada (the french equivalent of CBC here in Québec). The episodes are wrongly named "24 60 2008-09-29", "24 60 2008-09-29 - 1", etc. since they are original new stuff from 2024. I guess "2008-09-29" is the date of the very first episode of that show.. It annoys me because the new added episodes are marked as already seen even though they are not. I guess it's because of their naming pattern. I delete the viewed episodes regularly so the new episode get the old (and already used) name "24 60 2008-09-29". For the record, I've also tried to record the same show with live TV on Plex and I don't have the problem.
Luke 39410 Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 HI, please attach the emby server log from the time of a recording: How to Report a Problem Thanks.
mighty_spiky 1 Posted December 12, 2024 Author Posted December 12, 2024 Sorry, here it is... embyserver-63869605807.txt
Luke 39410 Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 OK before the recording happens, can you view it in the live tv guide? It should show the original air date (if the guide data has that value). My guess is you'll see the 2008 there as the original air date. Thanks.
mighty_spiky 1 Posted December 13, 2024 Author Posted December 13, 2024 Indeed, if I look at the guide, I see 2008 as original air date for that show but the problem is that new episodes have 2008 in their name while they shouldn't.

mighty_spiky 1 Posted December 13, 2024 Author Posted December 13, 2024 Yes, just last night, I recorded a *new* original episode which has been titled "24 60 2008-09-29 - 2" in my library. The "2" at the end is because I already have recorded 2 new and original episodes before that. It seems Emby is viewing this show as a movie (or anything that is a "one shot" deal) which is repeating itself over and over instead of viewing it like a never ending TV serie of new episodes (like it should be). The most ugly thing in this is that every episode that I record is marked as seen (since I indeed viewed an episode called "24 60 2008-09-29") even though it's unseen.
Luke 39410 Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 OK we'll need to report the incorrect date to our guide data provider @Carlo Thanks. 1
mighty_spiky 1 Posted December 13, 2024 Author Posted December 13, 2024 Will you or somebody update this topic here if/when there is something new regarding this issue?
emveepee 123 Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 News and talk shows often have a single original air date when they are not episodic, I don't think this is a Gracenote issue. Martin 1
Carlo 4535 Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 @mighty_spiky I'm going to report this to our provider as Luke suggested. I removed what I was going to ask as @emveepeejust posted it. Are you sure it's not what emveepee just posted about? If so, that would be normal/typical and there would be nothing to report. If that's not the issue, let's get this reported. I need a few pieces of information to provide our provider. Can you give me the name of the show. The station name and the channel number (pic from EPG grid would work). The country/postal code and provider so I can load it to get additional info I'll need. Can you give an example I can pass on that shows the incorrect info as well as what it should be? Optional but helps: Can you show a source (URL) that shows the correct info?
mighty_spiky 1 Posted December 15, 2024 Author Posted December 15, 2024 Hi Carlo, Yes, I'm sure. In another "well known media center", I recorded one episode of this show on september 14 of this year and the media center named it "24 60 (2008) - 2024-09-14 02 35 00 - 24 60.ts" as it should be. As you can see, this name reflects that the serie first started on 2008 but that this episode was a new and original one. Name of the show: 24/60 I cannot include a screenshot of the EPG since it seems the show has taken a break for the holidays as of now. The channel number is 11.1 and the name of the station is "ICI Radio-Canada Télé". The country is Canada and my postal code is G1M 2K7. The incorrect info is that, whatever the episode, it is always named "24 60 2008-09-29" while adding an incremental number at the end of the file if I record more episodes without deleting the old one. The URL of the show is https://ici.radio-canada.ca/rdi/24-60/site?tz=EST but please note that the channel name and broadcasting time on that site don't match those I gave you because what I record is a rebroadcast on another channel. Thanks for the support even though this seems to be a "very specific issue"... 1
