qux 10 Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Plea help me, I change my internet box and now I can't connect to my server with my smartphone or TV, even if they are in same network than the internet box. To connect I write the local address which is indicated in my dashboard and I put the port number 8096 but it says ''connection impossible''. I tried remote access with 4G connection and entering WAN code but same problem
qux 10 Posted November 26, 2024 Author Posted November 26, 2024 I follow this step to open my port but no result https://wiki.mcneel.com/zoo/window7firewall In my internet box server, I see the LAN code is now different than the emby server code, so I try to put the internet box server code but same result.
Luke 40086 Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 I would suggest stepping through our Connection Troubleshooter: Connectivity Please try the steps listed there and let us know which steps succeed and which ones do not. Thanks !
qux 10 Posted November 27, 2024 Author Posted November 27, 2024 My english is very bad sorry, for internal connection, I want to connect my smartphone with WIFI, so I put the XX.XX number in ''host". First probleme, you see in picture it's not the same number between emby server and my interner server information, the last number is "254" in my internet server information and it's "30" in emby app, I don't know why. I try both of them and same result I can't connect (I put 8096 in Port)
qux 10 Posted November 27, 2024 Author Posted November 27, 2024 Same result with my LG TV (connected to ethernet)
qux 10 Posted November 27, 2024 Author Posted November 27, 2024 For external connection, I try with my smartphone in 4G. I put the YY.YY.YY number in "host" and ZZ number in "port". And it's not working I have the message "unable to reach server"
Luke 40086 Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 Quote so I put the XX.XX number in ''host". Are you sure you entered the correct value? What port forwarding did you configure?
qux 10 Posted November 27, 2024 Author Posted November 27, 2024 Yes I put the good number for international and externat connections. If I out wrong number i have the message unable to connect to server immediately. If i out the good number the connection loads blankly for 30 seconds then I get the message "unable to connect to the server"
Luke 40086 Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 How exactly are you trying to connect from the smartphone?
qux 10 Posted November 27, 2024 Author Posted November 27, 2024 With emby app, but I have same problem with Lg's TV. Its a problem with my new internet box but i dont know what I need to do for solve the problem.

qux 10 Posted November 27, 2024 Author Posted November 27, 2024 You talk about an adress, what is it ? Its the number in "host" ? I try to put the "LAN" numbers or "wan" numbers which are written in the emby server information
Solution seanbuff 1148 Posted November 28, 2024 Solution Posted November 28, 2024 @quxwhat OS is your Emby Server running on, is it Windows? Have you checked that your network connection is set to Private and not Public? This can sometimes change when you make changes to your network and a new network is detected.
qux 10 Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 Oh you right thank you very much, it's working for internal connections, but not for external connections, I put numbers in "WAN access" but it's not working

qux 10 Posted November 30, 2024 Author Posted November 30, 2024 yes, I already couldn't get the external connection working before changing the internet box
seanbuff 1148 Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 40 minutes ago, qux said: yes, I already couldn't get the external connection working before changing the internet box For remote access, you will need to follow this guide to setup port forwarding in your router: Remote Setup Note, that your ISP may be using cgNAT which could prevent the above from working, but try it first to see if it allows it.
seanbuff 1148 Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Also, these are not the same thing. "ZZ" in your bottom screenshot is the HTTP port to access your Freebox, that is not what you want. You should configure "ZZ" as the default Emby port "8096" when using HTTP, and port forward "8096" in your Freebox to the internal IP of your Emby Server "DESKTOP-TLD3TKK" Using the above guide should help you with that.
