tmurphy2792 21 Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 So this might be pretty closely related to a post I've done in the past about m3u streams and choosing the highest quality stream. For video podcasts I've run into a very similar issue, when I open an episode it will automatically choose the lowest quality video and will not find the higher quality video. Being as it's RSS instead of m3u, I'm not sure if there's a difference here, but I figured it's worth posting. Is this the same underlying issue that should be resolved whenever newer version of FFMPEG releases?
Luke 39685 Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Hi, how does the rss represent multiple versions?

I'm not sure, it looks like going to the URL for the video file somehow redirects me to a new URL when I open the video file in Chrome. VLC also seems to get the high def video. I guess to make this easier I should have included the RSS for you guys. https://cooperstuffpodcast.libsyn.com/rss

Hey Luke, I'm sorry, I should have done more due diligence before reporting this apparently. It looks like the ones I noticed were SD are older episodes that actually are SD on chrome and VLC as well, but when I had checked the RSS feed manually I grabbed stuff from the top which was of course newer and in HD. Please disregard/cancel this post. I apologize again for wasting your time with this one. 1
tmurphy2792 21 Posted October 15, 2024 Author Posted October 15, 2024 The good news is, this has made me stumble on a real bug (or maybe a counterintuitive feature?), I'll start a new post for it. 1
