lubby 1 Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 Currently, collections allow us to add different media types depending on library - Shows, Movies, Music Videos, Other Videos, Folders, Music, Cast etc. There are two ways of organizing collections, all items together or grouped by type. In my opinion, the grouped by type is vastly superior for quick filtering of media types. The rest of the post refers to this grouping. The problem: Let's say you have a "Marvel Universe" collection with all the movies, all the animated shows, some non-descript videos, hundreds of songs from the OSTs, all the various characters under cast. If there are many items of the same library type the only option for scrolling through them is clicking the arrows on left/right, which is fine if you have 10, less so when you have 200. What is missing is the ability to click on the media type to expand it into its own window. The solution: Implement it the same way as it currently works for people. If you click a person you can see all the items they have been added to in metadata and you can expand the individual media types. The technology for this is already in the background, so it should not be a difficult addition/fix (but what do I know)
