Samsung tv app version used - 1.8.7 and 1.8.0.

I use .strm files to stream movies.

Internet speed and all other parameters are same for every client.

When I skip a 10 -15 seconds in a movie in other clients(Android, Web App, Kodi), it skips instantly and does not do spinning.

But in Samsung TV client, I have to wait 5-6 seconds. This waiting time is same as when you start a movie. It feels like there is NO BUFFER. It needs bigger buffer(for example --- 1 minute).

Thanks in Advance. ❤️

Unfortunately this is the issue.  The Samsung native player buffering capabilities are somewhat limited and while you can set a bigger buffer, this buffer needs to fill before playback starts or when resuming from skip operations.  Therefore, a bigger buffer means bigger delays.  As you stated: 'This waiting time is same as when you start a movie.'

We can improve this a bit by actually making a smaller buffer, which means it has less to load and will start/skip/resume quicker but it will be less tolerant to any network issues and may affect overall playback.

Hi, Skip operation is only 10 seconds.

I was not talking about skipping 30 minutes or 1 hr. I was talking about skipping for only 10 seconds by pressing right button once. It should skip immediately but it loads (like when starting a movie). I hope there is some solution.

Thanks.

If the TV is limited to 100 mb/s ethernet (most are btw), then a video with 60 mb/s bitrate will take 6 seconds to buffer 10 seconds of video.  That means a 6 second delay on every skip, and every playback start which in my opinion is too long.

If you are seeing 5-6 seconds delays, then you probably have a different issue as I don't think we're buffering that much.  Can you please share the logs and give us a specific example?
