GSSA1 0
OK That worked! I chose to run under User emby. A warning came up "home dir "/usr/lib/emby-server" does not belong to the user you are creating." Then: emby-server start/running process 7139; and processing triggers for libc-bin; and for ureadahead" So, please tell me how to get to the wizard. (I could use the exact command, please) ...something to do with 8096? thanks, and thanks again.

briped 0
From reading the posts, it looks like Wily (15.10) isn't supported (yet), even though the repository seems to have been created for it. Just adding a little feedback, that I couldn't find anywhere else... After upgrading to 15.10, Emby would no longer start, so I changed the repository from 15.04 to 15.10 (basically following the guide for 15.04 and changing the repository path, as I could see it existed). Now I can't remember the initial errors, but I ended up uninstalling Emby in order to re-install it, but apparently there's no 'Emby-srerver' package in the 15.10 repo, as I'm getting the following error: root@hostname:/etc/apt/sources.list.d# apt-get install emby-server Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Package emby-server is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from another source E: Package 'emby-server' has no installation candidate No rush, just wanted to add the feedback. hurricanehrndz 149
Yes, and no. The ppa is enabled and there is work being to done to get the binaries building. For now, there is a deb package that was provided, you will need to have the 15.04 ppa enabled for dependencies. Run a search for wily and stretch. briped 0
Already installed the provided .deb, without changing the ppa to 15.04 (still using 15.10). It did complain about unmet libmono dependencies, but an apt-get -f install resolved that. I will keep in mind that it might not work fully while I'm using the 15.10 ppa. As a subnote, I tried to build from git, as you described in the announcement, it failed the first time, don't know why (guessing perhaps the unmet libmono dependencies?), am trying again now, and it seems to be building now. hurricanehrndz 149
Nope, build shouldn't fail because of unmet dependencies because the build happens in a virtualize environment and I ensured that they get installed. Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk From reading the announcement threat, I see that the initial build issue I had was me not having installed docker, which I did in the meantime. Just tried using the emby-server-beta build, same issue as with the stable, the process shows briefly in an ps ax, but then is gone on the next ps ax. Looking for logs to show what errors were causing this.

briped 0
Changed ppa back to 15.04 as you've said all the time to use (I'm just stubborn, I wanted to see if it worked with 15.10), and updated/upgraded all the libmono dependencies there were, then rebuild emby from git, and it seems to work now. gedl 0
Hi I seem to be in a deadlock. I am running Ubuntu 15.10 if I add the repository at http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/emby/xUbuntu_15.10/ apt-get cannot find an emby-server package. It's no surprise as when browsing this URL there is no package there. On the other hand if I use http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/emby/xUbuntu_15.04/, the emby-server package is found, but has a tree of package conflicts only resolveable by installing libmediainfo0. I have another package that needs libmediainfo0-v2 that would have to be installed to satisfy this obsolete dependency. What's the best advise to get this working ? Thanks, Gonçalo
hurricanehrndz 149
1510 repo is not ready yet. There is a package in the forms, please run a search for wily and stretch. I will try and release an update that makes libmediainfo optional. Not running our version of libmediainfo will affect performance over the wan by the way. Anyhow, docker might be your best bet. hurricanehrndz 149
I hope soon, but to be honest with you I have hundreds of things on my plate. I'm hoping if all goes well that by the end of the week I will have something. The issue is that I might need to go with something other than obs for 15.10 so that I can have packages for 16.04 building on the day of release. I don't want this whole 3 day delay to occur again that stretches out to a month because of the major differences in release. Meaning I want to be building 16.04 packages too soon.
