SMTV91 14 Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 Hi everyone I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app many times in my phone and I’m still getting playback errors. I fixed my emby connect log in error by not allowing the app to connect to other devices on my network. Unfortunately when trying to watch videos I get a “no compatible streams” error. I’m on the latest IOS for iPhone and emby 2.2.21. Any insight? Never had any issues with emby on iPhone before but this definitely started with the most recent update. I've attached my logs here and the user is SMTV91 (my admin account). The log attached here I tried watching a show "Lark Rise to Candleford" at on June 1, 2024 8:42AM so the log would show a recent error (hopefully makes it easier to find). The ffmpeg log was last generated May 31 and I attached as well. Server version is 4.8.8.0, emby ios app version is 2.2.21, and ios version is the latest: 17.5.1. Error message the pops up is: "Playback Error: No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details. " All of my other users are fine including my account (SMTV91) on other devices (samsung tv, firestick and ipad) it's just my admin account (SMTV91) only on my iphone (15) that has issues. Thanks so much for looking into it and I think I included everything needed for the error report. embyserver (1) (1).txt ffmpeg-transcode-d747cdd0-dead-4142-8b30-4e5628c559bd_1 (1).txt
Luke 39306 Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 HI, is it just a problem with that one avi? Are you saying other users on the same device are able to play?
SMTV91 14 Posted June 7, 2024 Author Posted June 7, 2024 It’s all video streams and I only mentioned that one was as an example for the log. Other users are fine and it just seems to be my admin account on my iPhone.
Luke 39306 Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 HI, please let us know if Emby for iOS 2.2.22 helps with your issue. Thanks !
SMTV91 14 Posted June 9, 2024 Author Posted June 9, 2024 Thanks for checking in! Unfortunately remote connection isn’t working for me. The server is up and running and other remote connections with other software work but not Emby on my phone. I can’t get past the choose server screen. And I haven’t made any changes to my network connection ie ISP or ports etc Not sure what else it could be. Unless I need to reinstall the server?
Luke 39306 Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 Hi, please try doing a manual connection by clicking add server and entering the server address manually. Please let us know if that helps. Thanks.
SMTV91 14 Posted June 9, 2024 Author Posted June 9, 2024 So on my local wifi I tried and still get the playback error. I tried to start watching this episode of One Piece - Startling! the secrets of the island is finally revealed on my iphone. (Logs attached here). And trying to connect manually throws back the "unable to connect to the selected server" error using both my local and remote server addresses as indicated on the emby dashboard. embyserver.txt

Luke 39306 Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 Try making sure the app is granted local network access on the device.

Main issues are my admin account SMTV91 can't sign in using iphone or play any videos. And remote connections to the server to not work for any user. Thanks again for any help you can provide as it's a frustrating issue for us all I'm sure.

I would suggest checking out our Connection Troubleshooter: Connectivity Please try the steps listed there and let us know which ones succeed and which ones do not. Thanks.

Thanks. This is what I used to set up remote connections initially and everything is the same. Ports are forwarded and open and there's access through firewall. Is there anything in the logs that may explain? Do I need to reinstall my server or something else? Too bad I can't just rollback the emby app on my phone

Using app.emby.tv works but in the app nothing. I can't even login on the app anymore when I try to it says login error.

It's just the ios phone app where I can't log in and when I was able to login I kept getting the no available streams error. Edited June 20, 2024 by SMTV91
Solution SMTV91 14 Posted June 25, 2024 Author Solution Posted June 25, 2024 All good @Luke I ended up reinstalling the server and all is fine now on my phone in terms of login and playback. Unfortunately now One of my users can’t log in on her android phone although others on android are fine so that’s another issue. Thanks again for responding 1
Luke 39306 Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Hi, What exactly happens when they try to login?
SMTV91 14 Posted June 28, 2024 Author Posted June 28, 2024 @LukeIt takes them in a continuous loop of logging in then back to the main login screen. They tried resetting their password any connecting manually and nothing works.
