HappyGilmour 2 Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Hi, I have a Premiere account. I am having this strange problem where 2 episodes of Customer Wars will not play video via Roku Emby app. HTTP plays fine. I am attaching log file here. You can go to the bottom (approximately 7:01 PM) and see the episodes of Customer Wars being played on the "Living Room" Roku device. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Don Morgan embyserver.txt
HappyGilmour 2 Posted June 4 Author Posted June 4 Hi, It plays as if there is no problem. I have audio. But I get a black screen. It is like it is a video codec issue except when I play the video via the Emby web interface it plays fine (it also plays fine on Media Player Classic on the same machine Emby server is installed on.) I can skip forward and go back. But I just get a black screen for video.
Luke 38499 Posted June 4 Posted June 4 What Roku device? Also can you please copy and paste the media info from the bottom of the web app detail screen and attach it here? Thanks.
HappyGilmour 2 Posted June 4 Author Posted June 4 The media info is pasted below. The Roku is built into our TTC TV. I have updated it....removed it and re-added it....same results. Thank you for the help!
ebr 15346 Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Hi. Is any ffmpeg log generated at the time it is playing and not showing video? If you use the "Playback Correction" option in the cog menu of the OSD during playback, does this correct it? You can select that option multiple times.
HappyGilmour 2 Posted June 4 Author Posted June 4 Hi, Emby on a Roku doesn't offer me the ability to generate an ffmpeg log. I will try "Playback Correction" and let you know. Thank you!
HappyGilmour 2 Posted June 4 Author Posted June 4 There is no "Playback Correction" in the Roku version of Emby. Thanks though.

You find all logs wherever your server is configured to store them. The server itself is where almost all video issues will be found. Also I just checked and my Roku does offer "playback correction." You access it by pressing "down" during playback and choosing the settings menu via the star icon.

Had NO idea there was a settings cog when you press the down arrow during playback. I chose "Attempt Playback Correction" and that did fix the problem. Thank you so much!!

Happy2Play 9060 Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Devs may have to comment but suggests this may be a problem file. For about 3000+ lines 19:02:29.247 [matroska, webm @ 0000023d8fec6c80] File extends beyond end of segment. 19:02:29.247 [matroska, webm @ 0000023d8fec6c80] Element at 0x2520507f ending at 0x261c9e3f exceeds containing master element ending at 0x2520642b 19:02:29.247 [matroska, webm @ 0000023d8fec6c80] Element at 0x2520508e ending at 0xad94de0ada442 exceeds containing master element ending at 0x2520643a But if it were an issue with only 2 files I would look at trying to remux them or replace them.
ebr 15346 Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Yes, my next suggestion would be trying to remux one of these to see if it corrects the issue.
