music , Album/ Artist playlist random?

I don't know if the request has been made, or if it might already be there, but I can't find it.

Is it possible, if I am going to listen to an album or an artist, and I add, for example, three Albums, or artist more to the queue, that this queue can also be played as random?

I do know that I can save this queue as a playlist and then choose after which I can random play. but that's a bit cumbersome.

???? @Lukereally? The option to "Randomize the playback queue " is pretty standard functionality. I always assumed you could in Emby.

The standard convention, in most good players is shown below (highlighted in red) This happens to be Apple Music,

my Emby client is shown below

An open source basic music/ audio server..

 

The use case described is mainstream - add a couple of whatever to the queue and play in random order.

I think it is already a known Feature Request in a few other older topics (although stated slightly differently).

The below Feature Request from Oct, 2022 suggests putting the shuffle icon next to the loop/repeat icon at the top of the play queue. That may also be a good option? If you scroll down to Luke's second reply, he mentions that it's possible for the future.

Its looks like that this option is on Jellyfin.  I going to install Jellyfin soon and will using this for my music and wait for this update in Emby.

Apologies.  It does look like it got removed at some point in that interface.

Do not use Roku. Tested now yellyfin and that working nice.

HI, have you tried clicking shuffle prior to playback? We have shuffle buttons all over the user interface.

Hi Luke, there are indeed many shufle options, by Genre or artists. But I think it is missed that you cannot put a number of albums or artists in the waiting list and play them randomly, they then only play by album. I see that it is happening with Jelly, so I'll just use it for now. The big point is that it is free.....

Hi Luke, I saw the 4.9 beta, i have installed it, and indeed on the window emby there is the possibility for random on the playlist .

Am I correct that is not yet on the android and android TV?  I see there is only the possibility for  repeat mode ?

luke, I find the issue, I will try to explane.

On mij android phone is use the android app. when I listen to emby with my earphones i have the random button.

When I want to play the list from my phone through the  emby DNLA server the random possibly is going.

Hi, what do you mean by send that to the amplifier? Either way, Emby still manages the play queue, not the amplifier.
