Emby homescreen doesn't update on its own every time

Yeah, I don't get how long we'll have this duel between apps.  Why do this?

Per other topics we already know the answer as one client will potentially go away or stop being developed.

Potentially?  Let's make a decision; this has been going on a long time.  The Standard app video player has inferior quality, so if Emby doesn't make it as good at ATV, well, I'll be complaining   Please don't make me abandon Emby.  Standard app just doesn't seem to be appropriate for a TV.

The standard app video player is actually ahead in updates from the player we use

Good to hear that the player is being updated, but the last time I compared, the ATV quality was as expected and the Std app was below par.  Could settings be the difference?   (though I can't think of what, and OOTB should have good quality anyway)

Yes certainly that could have an impact.

Just an FYI, this issue still exists on emby for android tv.  The home screen does not update automatically with the only solutions being exiting out and relaunching or going to favorites and back to the home page.

For emby client, the latest from the google store.  And the emby server I am on the  4.9.0.32 beta.

I installed the beta version of the emby for android tv and it fixed the issue.  So some change made between the beta and the one in the store fixes this issue.

That is likely coincidental but I'm glad it is working for you now.

I never see this issue so believe it is somehow a timing thing and may be only in some environments or intermittent.

Doubt it, it impacted all 4 of my devices.  I've only tested on 2 so far but it's good for now ..

2.1.23g, the main screen appears to be mostly refreshing in it's own now.  Occasionally I have to relaunch the app or go to favorites and back to force it.
