Rotate the movies is possible?

Hi, I automatically download the photos and videos I take with my mobile phone to the NAS. I added the folder on Emby and I can see movies and photos, but unfortunately while the photos if they were taken in portrait mode are shown well (black bars on the sides) the movies are played rotated to fill complete the screen. Is it possible to somehow rotate videos 90 degrees?

This is an example, as you can see the film played rotated (I did it with the cell phone vertically), logically if I play it on the cell phone it looks fine, if I did movie with cellular phone horizontal it's played fine.

I see you're running an old beta build. Try updating to the latest build, then refresh the metadata on that video and see if it helps. Thanks.

Hi Luke , I updated my server with the last version terramaster published, 

I have done some test, unfortunately the situation didn't change so much. 

SO from my two different SAmsung  smart tv , and from PC the movies is played has before.(rotate)

During the test I noticed from PC the following behaviour:

Playing with EDGE (from EMBY dashborard he wrote  however Chrome ) the picture is wrong rotate ,

INSTEAD if I play it with  Chrome browser the picture is correct (also if in this case the movies stop and run again several time )

Following the log for both situation :

Movies played rotate with EDGE browser file  with NOT OK name

Movies played with picture Not rotate with Chrome  , file with standard name

Hi Luke, I tryed but nothing change, my problem is that I cannot see on TV if the image is rotated

It seems to played well only if you reproduce it with google Chrome.

From the log don't you see any strange?  Why Chrome rotate the image well and all the other devices like smart TV (both samsung ) or fire stick or EDGE browser instead no?

Any ideas?

I Luke, I made refresh metadati option on a single or folder movies but nothing changed. 

If I use the TV media player with nas mediaserver the same movies is playback fine, so is emby that rotate the movies.

What does Media info show for the item as previous image does not show rotation data, unless since it show 0 it will not exist?

Hi, yes , sounds like similar problem,  the problem is always related to the movies done with mobile phone, were you can take it on portrate or landscape position.
@Luke I have already done the refresh of metadata after install new version but nothing changed.

@teicang I have reproduced the issue by forcing transcoding by reducing quality on a sample portrait video.

I will follow this up

The problem only appears to arise if the video is transcoded

Can you show the Media Info shown in Emby for the item as it still sounds like rotation data is the issue as the ffmpeg log say there is no rotation.  So there has to be a disconnect somewhere or ffprobe is just seeing correct data.

Actually from terramaster APP center the 4.8.3.0 is the last release I can update, 

Do you know if the new release for terramaster will be release soon?

WIth .4/.5 just being released I assume some platform app stores will take awhile unless you manually update.

Ok, if I try to update manually, do I have to uninstall the current version, or is it enough to interrupt the APP I have in the system and then proceed with installing the new version in manual mode?

All my data \ configuration will remain , correct?

Done , new version istalled and bug seems fixed Versione 4.8.5.0
I just tryed from PC and now the movies is played correct ,

The last test will be this evening from tv , I will update asap I will do it.

Hi just tested on tv after I have update the metadata.

Unfortunately the movies is played wrong, different from previous mode ..worse than before  ,see the picture
