JF for AndroidTV seems to understand the requirement nicely .. The more I use the JF for AndroidTV - the more I like it - being honest here, I like it more than the Emby AndroidTV App (it is modern looking functional version of that App..) Putting all the configuration/preferences in the proper Android TV side bars is so nice .. it all integrates beautifully .. .. one of my primary reasons for not even giving the Android client a fair test is this screen below - it's just ugly and unfinished, the episode thumbnail is not even centered in the white background ... If you need to do vertical scrolling, then do what AndroidTV did and just highlight the area BORDER (in grey/low intensity white) .. Although I actually much prefer how JF are doing it (Horizontal Scrolling - to match the rest of the App.. and this makes much better use of the screen estate for the highlighted option ..) anyway - sorry, way off topic .. back to Refresh Rate / Resolution switching - sorry ! Perhaps you need to do an Emby vs. JellyFin comparison thread, like you did with the ATV and STD Android apps Might have to install the latest JF server myself and take a look Where do they do their support stuff from nowadays, Discord? Just installed the latest JF server. Had a previous JF server, so it just updated and scanned my libraries. So far, so good. Will download and install the ATV app later when I'm home. EDIT: I have moved these posts to a new thread. Edited June 20, 2023 by CBers

No, I said it was a reason. There are many reasons, the white background is another. Edited June 20, 2023 by Audiomixer 1

No season description. No actions you can take on the whole season (play all, shuffle all, mark watched, filter, etc). Our new Series view gives you the horizontal presentation of the entire series though.

No actions you can take on the whole season (play all, shuffle all, mark watched, filter, etc). At a Season level yes, those 'functions' are missing - but play all is irrelevant anyway (as the next episode queues up anyway) and I've never once felt the need to watch a show in randomly played episodes - I generally like to watch them in order .. (lol). I kid, for individual episode shows, I get why this may be useful. Below is the 'show' level screen on JF AndroidTV - here you can do the playall/shuffle if you wanted to. 42 minutes ago, ebr said: Our new Series view gives you the horizontal presentation of the entire series though. I have that set (single Season only - as that the ONLY time I want to see it) and it still uses the Vertical display when selecting that Season. JF gives you the best of both worlds. If only 1 Season - then it doesn't bother displaying 'Season 1' - it just gives you the episodes (horizontal) If it has multiple Seasons - then it gives you the 'current' Season (as horizontal) and if you select any other season, then it gives you that season in Horizontal as well.. .. It's not a full comparison - it's not supposed to be... - but even in it's current release, the JF AndroidTV App has many features I prefer over the Emby Android App (even some in the Emby AndroidTV App..) and it already looks 'polished' (and most importanly, it's not being sunsetted either...) That design is my original one from our app in 2014 (they've just never changed it). We moved to a more modern (and universal) view a long time ago. 1

Just hold on. Luke wants to know what there is to not like about the std app. Well, you just said it in five words. I guess Luke never actually used it

We moved to a more modern (and universal) view a long time ago. Your 2014 design looked good. I primarily use Android and Roku and find both of those to be pretty flat. I've debated a few times completely restyling the web interface but since it won't be the same as the apps I've always just accepted what there is. I like the look and feel of Emby Theatre more than the apps but again, I don't generally watch on a computer. It would be nice to have options to style the interfaces differently.

We did learn early on though that colors and intensity need to be toned down on TVs so we need to address that in the standard app.

Performance improvements in 3311 appear to have done the trick on my hardware anyway - it's now has much more fluidity and responsiveness and I would say is on-par with AndroidTV now.
