kaiqi1117 0 Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Hi guys, I got some problems when using the Collection and subs. @Happy2Play Can we use the oldest movie/show's year for the Collection? I put The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan into a collection. The Collection uses the date of the latest show, not the first one. I did change the year of the Collection, but nothing changed. Second, is there any way we can customize the order inside a Collection? In Plex, we can easily change the orders by moving the title without changing the name. In Emby, I only saw two options: the name and date. The last question, can Emby add another option --- just the "Chinese" for the preferred subtitle language? Not Chinese Simplified or Traditional, just the Chinese. Because some videos contain an English sub, which is set as default. Sometimes, the default hard sub is English, and the Traditional Chinese soft sub cannot show up because no Simplified Chinese sub exists.

Currently no, Collections have Release Date or Sort Name order. There are multiple feature requests for changing order. kaiqi1117 0 Posted September 14, 2022 Author Posted September 14, 2022 Quote What view is the first image from as it looks like TV library with items grouped into Collection? If it is what is the Sort order? Yes, it's the TV library with items grouped into Collection. Before that, whether I choose "Sort by Release Date" or "Sort by Year," it always uses the date of the latest TV show to present. No matter whether I typed the released date/year or not. However, something like this happened. I put all the idolmaster TV shows and movies in a Collection. It uses the latest TV show to present (highlighted in the picture). I scrolled down to Suzumiya Haruhi's Collection. It's using the oldest date of the TV show to present now. I don't know what happens here.
kaiqi1117 0 Posted September 14, 2022 Author Posted September 14, 2022 Quote So you want to Chinese sub to play that are either Simplified or Traditional depending on which one you have? @Luke Maybe we can add a feature like "ranking the preferred subtitle language" in Subtitles? For ex., Chinese Simplified Chinese Traditional English If there's no Chinese Simplified, it automatically selects the Chinese Traditional; If there's no Chinese Traditional, it chooses the English.

But do not know the specifics but this example is sorted to 2020. 32 minutes ago, kaiqi1117 said: Maybe we can add a feature like "ranking the preferred subtitle language" in Subtitles? Will have to look but believe there are FR for preferred fallback languages like this. 1

Luke 38985 Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 Yes, more fallback language options are possible in future updates.
