Yeah which is frustrating for consumers since most people will buy the dominant platform and then some of those consumers will discover niche interest which may or may not be supported.

That is also probably just frustrating for you guys as developers since developing for open platforms is becoming more and more of a privileged nowadays. In that sense Apple and Roku are probably the most painful ones to work around as well. Android seems to be getting and more synonymous with Google services nowadays as well which is also worrying for the future I guess.
