Drazgo 8 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Anyone else not seeing latest media updates on respective pages? I recently moved all my media to new drives, I did this by dropping existing paths and repointing to new UNC paths. I have since added new media to these new paths and out of all the media added only one movie showed up in the recently added area. Any ideas or anyone else running into similar issues? Thanks,Draz Version 3.0.5366.22005
above1 42 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I had the same issue, but after doing some investigation on my end, it turned out that I had erroneously added TV-13 parental rating to my user account. You just may want to check that. I have had everything else show up without issue. above1
Drazgo 8 Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 Only two accounts, admin account and kids account. PC is always logged in as Admin I did double check just on the off chance but admin has full access. Cheers, Draz
Happy2Play 9289 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Have you rescanned your library? Dashboard-library-scan library Does your new media show up in the Metadata Manager? Maybe incomplete metadata.
jamesplay 22 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 (edited) Media Browser shows latest media as the newest created files. If other media files are newer then it wouldn't show up on your latest media, regardless if you added the location for your media files. If you want them to show up on latest media, you can go into the specific item's metadata page on the web client and modify the Date Added field to a later date. Drazgo 8 Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) To answer the first questions... New media has date created as of today and does not show. I have initiated library scans on several occasions but it seems that all but one title are stuck on latest media page. When media is added to the folder, MB finds it, adds metadata to it. It is searchable within MB. Just not showing up as recent in the recent items area. Media is being added to the folders which are on a NAS. Is there a way to flush cache and then do a rescan maybe? Appreciate the help! Cheers, Draz Edited September 15, 2014 by Drazgo
Drazgo 8 Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) Hey Jamesplay, I took a look at the Metadata Manager and I think the problem was because my Region was set to English (Australia). Just moved back from Oz so I didn't think to change anything over. But noticed the date format was d/M/year instead of M/dd/year. Think maybe this might be the problem? Not sure if MB is set to read non US date format. Anyway I have changed it over and will add some newly created media to see if I can get an update. Thanks for the tip! Although looked at a few new ones I added recently and the dates were kind of all over the place... there was one I added today but it was showing a date added of 28/4/2014. Another one had a date added of 16/7/2014... Edited September 15, 2014 by Drazgo
Drazgo 8 Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Just an update, still have the same items stuck on Latest Media screen. Several new movies and shows added with Date Added in folder showing current date. Anyway to do a forced flush of cache, update library?
Drazgo 8 Posted September 16, 2014 Author Posted September 16, 2014 After further review, it looks as if nothing is showing up in Latest Media since 8/19. All latest media that has been showing for the last 4 weeks have this under Date Added. This occurred shortly after I updated to Beta 3.0.5346 and after I moved my library from USB drives to NAS. The migration from USB to NAS was just me dropping the Drive Paths from the USB and adding the UNC path to the NAS. Not sure if this would have mucked up the library but I have run many full scans since then. I did notice at one point there is a cache cleanup that runs but there doesn't seem to be a way to force this. Any help on getting this resolved would be greatly appreciated as Latest Media is one of the better features in use. Thanks in advance!Draz

Drazgo 8 Posted September 17, 2014 Author Posted September 17, 2014 Just added 5 movies... in metadata manager only 1 of the 5 movies has the correct date in the Date Added field. The other four movies had random dates in the Date Added field: Movie 1: Date Added 09/16/2014 Movie 2: Date Added 08/08/2012 Movie 3: Date Added 08/08/2012 Movie 4: Date Added 08/08/2012 Movie 5: Date Added 08/20/2007 When viewing the Date Added field in the Folder at the OS level, they all say 9/16/2014 Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks,Draz
ebr 15545 Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 1) Do you have any other metadata managers in use? 2) Can you please post the one single server log file from the above operation?
Drazgo 8 Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 Hi ebr, 1) No other data managers in use. 2) Link to latest server log. It's by itself in the main folder: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gtl17h45pz6hafq/AAA1xZZyKflV-rCpj-5l4lpga?dl=0 One other thing I just noticed... Date Added in Metadata Manager appears to correspond to Date Modified of the file in the folder. So looks like its picking up the wrong info. Windows 8.1 Latest MB3 build. Thanks! Draz
Luke 39306 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 check the date created timestamp of the files, not date modified. just in case that's what you've done.
Drazgo 8 Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 Most of the movies date created and date modified match. Is there a check box somewhere on MB server to use?
ebr 15545 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Date Added in our metadata comes from file/folder date created or from existing metadata. You said it looked like we were reading the modified date and then you subsequently said that the modified and created dates were the same. Can you please confirm that the date added shown in the metadata matches the creation date shown in explorer? It may be that something on your system is modifying the creation dates.
Drazgo 8 Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 So yes, sorry for the confusion. This has never happened before so I am not sure why its starting now. Even older created files (I believe) were picked up as latest upon path change and rescan of library. This is what I have for a few files in question: This one is correct: These two are not:
ebr 15545 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 For movies inside of their own folders, it is the creation date of the folder that will count. What is that?
Drazgo 8 Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 Creation date of the folder is current: Date Modified Date Created
ebr 15545 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Can you show a screenshot of the metadata page for DeathWish 2?
Happy2Play 9289 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I believe the goes back to what @@Luke state here. When we first discover an item, it initially uses the date from the file, but then after that if the Added attribute exists then that value will be used instead. http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/6781-added-date/?p=94317
Luke 39306 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 yea i was going to ask, can you post the contents of the movie.xml and .nfo files. and which is set as your preferred metadata source? thanks.
