GoodOleHarold 3 Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 I haven't got an issue exactly more just looking for some advise on settings to choose I notice the thread count on the transcoder setting is default at auto but conversions it is max? I don't really use conversions so would swapping them be a good idea?
Abobader 3243 Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 Hello GoodOleHarold, ** This is an auto reply ** Please wait for someone from staff support or our members to reply to you. It's recommended to provide more info, as it explain in this thread: Thank you. Emby Team
GrimReaper 3798 Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 If you don't use Conversions - that setting is irrelevant. It only applies when you DO, has no effect on regular transcode streams.
GoodOleHarold 3 Posted September 25, 2021 Author Posted September 25, 2021 Yeah I understand that with the conversion setting What about the same setting in the transcoding settings. Would setting that from auto to max be beneficial?
GrimReaper 3798 Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 (edited) That is heavily depending on individual usage scenario: maxing it at all times might have adverse effect on other processes in your system if it is not a dedicated Emby server or you don't do anything heavy on your machine. If it is multi-functions system, it's up to each individual to decide how to divide workload. Personally, never messed with it as Auto should max it up if resources available, and reduce if CPU stressed, so you might just as well leave it as it is. Edited September 25, 2021 by GrimReaper Typo
Solution ebr 15439 Posted September 25, 2021 Solution Posted September 25, 2021 Hi. Unless you have a very specific reason or are directed to change something by support, the defaults will be the best choice. Thanks. 1
