  1. My feature request is an option to link crossover episodes over multiple series (for example the actual DC series or the Dick Wolf franchise, and others)! I know that TheTVDB has no metadata for crossover episodes, the information is only inside the plot. So it would be great to get metadata fields inside the episodes to link it manually. Perhaps with pulldown menus where I can choose from my already scraped content (field "TV series", then "Season", then "Episode", then "before / after"). And after that the crossover is shown in all series which are involved (like "C1" or something else").

    Images via URL

I would like to able to insert images from an URL instead of having to save it then upload it.
  3. Greetings I am new to Emby and if this feature is already in here, I have not been able to find it. I have found the "Block items with tags" but I need a "allow items with tags" option. I have a library with over 4000 items and my kids only have access to about 200 of them so having to tag 3800 items is really not going to be pleasant nor feasible. I currently use Plex and wanted to possibly move to Emby, Without this feature, it is definitely a deal breaker. If there is a way to do this (without moving the 200 items to a completely different file structure), or not a feature that will be implemented, please let me know... Thanks Brian

    Resume Shuffle

I would like to request an option to resume shuffle play of a series. Too many times I put a show on shuffle / random but then either turn the TV etc, Then the only options when coming back to the TV is Shuffle again or selecting an episode (often having to rewatch the same episodes you just watched). It would be good if you could just resume a shuffle play, i assume theres some sort of random order generated upon shuffle, if it could just hold on to that / save it. Thanks
  6. Is there any way to get the Tray icon to change somehow when an Active Recording is in Progress? Having come from 14 years of Media Center, it was nice having the little red dot in the system tray to indicate a recording in progress, you don't always remember all the time slots you have recordings scheduled for, so now I never know if it's safe to do a reboot for any reason or not without launching the web interface and checking the guide for active recordings.

It would be great if the notifications had an mqtt option.
  8. So, I've pretty much moved from plex at this point except for one thing... Emby is really just...not good at picking up shows on its own. It needs so much hand-holding to get the show to show up as the correct thing and it seems like Plex just does it magically almost all the time. I think I have a simple solution to smoothing this process out a little. When your scanner scans files, could you make it parse a space (0x20,0x255), a period (0x65), or an underscore (0x95) as all the same kind of delimiter? I think this is fundamentally what is separating the two things from finding things properly. It seems like if you take a file named something like silicon.valley.s05e01.720p.web.h264-tbs.mkv and put it in a folder with another random file it will pickup nothing. If you rename that files to "Silicon Valley S0501 720p.mkv" it will get it, but I'm honestly not doing that with literally thousands of episodes of TV. if you were to put that same file inside a folder just called Silicon Valley, it would get it. So, actually...come to think of it, as I'm typing...maybe the parsing of the file isn't even the issue because if it can read it when it's inside a folder of the same name then it must be using those delimiters. I dunno. Nonetheless....it seems like there's something going on here, either a bug or a feature, that needs to be looked at. Just take like 10 TV shows and throw them all in one folder and let it scan them as a library and it will give you nothing. Break them into their own folders and it will at least give you a folder with a blank page. I should be able to see the individual files if I put 100 single episodes into 1 folder and those episodes are not contiguous.

    Search by Tags

I know this has been requested before but searching the forum returned literally nothing for some reason. This should have been added when tags were added, when can we expect to be able to search tags? As in, search for matching text found within tags?
  10. When browsing on the Roku app, I have my libraries along the top: Movies, TV Shows, etc, then going down the screen there is Continue Watching, Next Up, Latest Movies, etc. When selecting Movies for example, the next screen gives buttons at the top for all movies, genres, and others, below that there is the same again (or similar) Continue Watching, Next Up, etc. I've already seen this on the main menu, can I not just go directly to my full movie list? For me personally I don't need the other buttons at the top but they could stay where they are and just have the full movie list underneath? It's getting very repetitive having to go through two screens to get to my movies when it could just be one, and I've repeatedly had to explain to users that they need to select "Movies" at the top once they're in the Movies library (that's another thing, this text used to say "All Movies" which was much more self-explanatory, now it's a little confusing).
  11. Recent lifetime subscriber and I am very happy so far. Just trying to figure out which client will be best to standardize on for several TVs. The one thing preventing me from using Apple TVs is the lack of a real grid-style guide and mini-guide in the ATV client. I would love to see this feature added soon. Thanks!

    Actor Bios

EBR closed the thread so I could not elaborate on it, I suggested adding TV/Movie credits to the character bio, not just the ones in my library for example Michael Keaton has been in several movies, maybe 50 or so... I have 2 movies with him in it...Beetlejuice & Spiderman: Homecoming Since I think he is a great actor I would like to buy other movies/TV shows with him in it I think it would be nice if the Emby team added his list of movies and tv shows he has been in to the bio...thats it. later on in the post I mentioned that Emby team could eventually link the movies and tv shows in the character bio to the Emby library and this is what EBR read and posted the following "We already show items in your library containing that actor." he missed the whole point to my suggestion: add all movies & TV credits to the bio, not just the ones I have in my library that might be my fault...maybe i didn't clearly say what I meant.. now if my request seems like its too much work for to little payoff, deny it....if its not worth your time, ignore it I know that the list of movie/TV shows might be a hassle to keep updating so It might not be feasable but it's only a suggestion..... thanks for your consideration Troy Bennett
  13. Sometimes after viewing a movie/TV show, there is an actor/actress that I was impressed with and want to know what else they have been in So like IMDB, and The Movie DB they have a list of credits of all their TV Show, Movie appearances... I think Emby should also have this in the characters bio... for example...I watch Spiderman: Homecoming the other day and realized I haven't seen Michael Keaton for a long time...since Beetlejuice, or Multiplicity so I went down to his bio picture and clicked it and it showed me information about him...where he was born, what city, a bit about him etc. typical for most bios, but it doesn't list any of his movies or TV shows I think it would be nice to see his other works in there as well and it wouldn't add a lot of hard drive space...i mean one nfo or xml file for credits... later on maybe you could link up that list of movie/TV show credits with what is in your library as well... I think the ability is there because it is listed in themoviedb.org API page not sure how good it is...but at least it looks like it is there...
  14. I would like to cut the opening sequence from my tv shows. Usually this is just the same title sequence used either by the entire series or season. Here is how I see it envisioned: cut the video into three parts. Beginning, title then end. The beginning and the end would be specified by another sequence number from: Firefly - S01E14 - The Message Bluray-1080p.mp4 to: Firefly - S01E14 SEQ1 - The Message Bluray-1080p.mp4 and Firefly - S01E14 SEQ2 - The Message Bluray-1080p.mp4 Those to will contain the main episode the first can be the before the title and the second after the title. Then create one file that is like: Firefly - S01 Title - The Message Bluray-1080p.mp4 that contains just the title sequence. Doing it this way would allow us to cut out a lot of overlap in video's thus saving space and allowing a new option from the interface to not play the Title at all and just watch the "meat" of the show if desired. If the title is at the beginning of the show then SEQ1 wouldn't be needed and only the SEQ2 file would be there. This could also be expanded to cover the credits, but those usually change as guest stars could be listed, but it could be another option that uses the same technique. It may not seem like much but cutting a one minute title out of 22 episodes would save 21 minutes of hard drive. With the amount of content I have that is significant value.
  15. Thought I saw a post earlier that the ability to create/manage a custom IPTV Channel order/list for the guide and to hide channels not wanted in the IPTV feed might be a 3.6+ feature. For me, this is the last missing feature to make Emby my go to IPTV solution. Would love to see this in Emby soon.
  16. I would like create a user like to other user. Example. user Pippo access library video1 bat not access to video2. If create new user Pluto with like Pippo then Pluto automatic access at library Video1 but not access video2. The best Solution is create User profile. Profile1 access library video1 bat not access to video2. I create Pluto user with profile = Profile1 . If change Profile1 automatic update all users associated.

    Convert to H265

Would be great if their was an option to transcode to H265 when optimising/syncing. Thanks

    Subtitles (DVB & PGS)

Wouldn't make since to have a option in Transcode setting with these subtitles disabled. And a disclaimer that if you enable these subtitles you will see a major performance hit. Or it could be in Playback settings, feel this is more of a admin setting not a user setting.
  19. I'm looking for a way to create a new user, e.g. "kid", and only "white-list" a few TV shows and a movie or two. After searching for similar questions, the most relevant existing answer is this: However, in the first case you need to physically re-order things on your storage, and keep consciously doing that. It gets even harder when you have multiple users (e.g. "his", "hers", "kid") and some items are available for a subset of them. In the second case you need to tag everything and keep tagging everything new, just so you can allow two TV Shows by not tagging them. This also gets complex with multiple users, because you have to tag everything with a blacklist-tag for every user so you can untag them for certain users without affecting the other user. I don't know what is the history of this functionality and if the way it's set up is due to technical limitations, so please forgive me if this question sounds ignorant: Wouldn't it be orders of magnitude easier if we could whitelist a specific tag (e.g. in parental controls) for a user, rather than blacklisting everything else?
  20. Sorry if this is already asked/answered, but my search didn't find it... In both Emby and Emby beta apps for the TCL Roku TV, I don't have a way of turning captions off and on at the movie or show play screen. Before I went to my profile settings and turned them off entirely, they would default to being turned ON, and I couldn't do anything about it. This isn't true of any other version of Emby I've tried (Chrome, Android). Thanks, Jim
  21. http://imgur.com/gallery/PwRpUCm I think it would be great if we could turn off the unwatched/watched numbers and the ability to resize/reskin them. Imo they look a bit big and ugly.
  22. The option (which plex has) to record from live TV to a particular library when setting a recording. Ie record Kids shows to kids tv and adult shows to a different tv library - Thanks for listening!
  23. Hey guys, So I enabled remote access and p/w'd protected my account that I mainly use locally (as prior this was not p/w protected) but ticked the option to only require the p/w on remote access, another feature that I think would be cool (and as I'm lazy ) is that; as I now have remote access enabled I hide all of my accounts for security, however like not requring a p/w when connecting locally I think it may also be useful to enable us to hide the accounts from login screen when remote access but have the option to show these when connecting locally? Thanks, Ky.
  24. I have two genres listed for comedy - "Comedy" and "comedy", and they contain the same movies. I've checked the genres for several of the movies in the "comedy" genre and in every case the genre is shown as "Comedy" with a capital "C". Any suggestions for how to eliminate the extraneous "comedy" genre? Screen shot is attached. Thanks!
  25. It would be nice to have the auto pay all of you want to keep going after x amount of time had passed similar to how Netflix does or Plex does, make it a features you can turn on or something, I listen stuff as I fall asleep and would be nice to not have to wake up in the middle of the night to turn it off.
