Intel N 355 hardware transcoding not available

@hectorzaneThat looks very interesting, but I don't think I have the time to try it, I might have some free time next week.
  3. connection error whether in the vehicle or on the Android application what should I do please thank you
  4. This is a really exciting development—using Whisper for live video translation has so much potential, especially for international users. It’ll be interesting to see how well it handles different accents and real-time speed. For situations where human accuracy is still needed (especially with nuanced languages like Japanese), I’ve found this interpreter service quite useful: https://www.translation.pk/japanese-interpreter/

Many photos do appear, but quite a few don't

Why should suddenly 20% of my images all of a sudden need a repair - all taken with same camera, all viewable with other softwasre, not just Synology Photos - I rather believe Emby needs a repair ...

    2.2.19 crashing on older iPad?

The issue with 12.5.7 is still happening. Just updated Emby on an old ipad and now it crashes on launch. I should have known better than to update the app without checking the forums first, the dev teams here seem to do this kind of bug introduction more than now. I learned my lesson, never update the emby until lots of other people have and never update even then unless you search for your OS version in the forums. I won't make this mistake again. Thanks Devs.

Movie folder not syncing in Kodi Piers

Same here. On Kodi 22 or CoreELEC 22, movies can't be synced, but dynamic nodes work. Sync nodes can only sync TV shows and music over. Not sure if the latest 12.** plugin supports this now?

This is really simpler to understand. I followed your instructions and it works. Thank you very much for your help.

    More control over subtitles

Thanks for your thorough response @visproduction This may be a "just me" situation but to add my context: > I mainly use a Tablet (iPad) or a TV to consume my Emby media, when on a TV I would prefer to not need a keyboard (use CEC form HDMI to control things), and many TV remotes do add some latency to the input key or cap the speed of repetition of a key, so slower "clicking" of options, but I still get a nice keypad number on the remote. > I host Emby for my brother, zero technical knowledge, and not a power user, who's 2 devices actually connect remotely to my Emby (VPN to keep my network from having other ports open) > I run Emby Server as a docker instance in my HomeServer Returning to the topics 1) Yes, I agree, a subtitle offset memory per user, just as it can store playback position per user. 2) I assumed that asking Emby to determine the correct framerate based on the video would be a lot more work and testing for the devs. than just having a box I can select and type/key-input the desired number. Having uneven jumps in scrolling could also confuse a basic user when increasing/decreasing the time of the subs. Jumping from 0 to ... lets say, 20 seconds using the arrow key from a TV remote is awful. The tablet is more hit / miss thing, faster with the slider but as you are pointing out, no fractions smaller than 100ms so no perfect syncing and making the arrows go lower than 100ms would add pain to someone that wants to jump to 20 seconds... (again, assuming no keyboard is involved). 3) and 4) I have OpenSubtitles plugin set up. No, it does not ask me for the name of the subtitles and in the Subtitle menu sometimes I end up with a repeated name for the subtitle or with just an "(SRT)", no language indicated. Real scenario, we had some family visiting and their kids didn't speak English, so we wanted Spanish subtitles. There was a sync issue so we ended up downloading additional subtitles, and they all ended up having the exact same display name in the subtitle menu, nothing to differentiate them. I'm attaching a screenshot. If my brother, or other users end up downloading extra subtitles for any reason, I wouldn't want to do cleanup after them entering my NAS and searching for the files, comparing, etc...each time they do. I much rather prefer to be able to "allow/disallow" subtitle renaming/deletion on this menu. Emby does not pull the actual filename of the subtitle, I'm not even expecting Emby to be able to change the filename. And yes, a "confirm" box after the change wold be ideal, again, for those users that have the permission. 5) As I said, outlier case but: From my iPad I'm on a IoT VLAN and so is my brother, we don't see the NAS from there. Also, just cleanliness of the process. iPad or PC, if Emby is already handling my subtitle management most of the time, why do I have to browse folders to get to upload a subtitle? I would prefer a more integrated experience, and Emby already knows where to put the file. This also would allow any other user with the right permissions (i.e., my brother) to upload a subtitle even if they don't have direct access to the NAS. Obviously I would restrict the filetype even if that's not a perfect security measure, but the permissions per user plus the filetype restriction might be sufficient. Not so far removed from also being able to upload individual movies directly from the GUI, but I don't want to deviate too much from the subtitle theme. 6) ..., same as 5, this point is a total stretch and I would not expect Emby to have VTT service within it. I was thinking on a way to connect it to a different external tool, and maybe self hosted (the idea of the plugin would be just to connect, or send the command to the external tool), the tool could get from Emby 2 things, the File path and the requested language. The plugin could send a command to the external tool (Docker instance of Whisper to keep things clean and separate) with the selected parameter (language) and the file's known path. If nothing else, Emby would automatically pick up the new subtitle after the next library scan. Whisper is a nice and simple tool to implement that can even be triggered through command line. Again, this is way past the other 5 ideas, but more and more self-hosted AI TTS and STT modules are out there (i.e, HomeAssitant integrations), so, it may be something to have on the radar. ...respectfully and hoping not to be a nag hehehe

    The correct Naming for Miniseries?

you are reading my mind literally. this is huge monkeyjob and will take a while. I see the next steps and restrictions from my POW at this moment: 1. there is no difference for the structures or organization - anyway it will be manual identification for almost every Movie. 2. there will be movies that can't be identified even with fetcher's direct ID (check up this thread earlier, unfortunately I couldn't find messageID or something like that) so I will have to fill up all information by myself. 3. moving providers (fetchers) up and down does nothing with already identified items, so this step has no reason, but potentially can lead to some additional issues in the future. 4. Lock the metadata is mandatory option for this library is case of step 3. did I missed something else? hmmm, I don't think so. What about a query with iteration over each fetcher and for each of them iteration by content type? The query's result will have all possible results and all of them can be offered to the user sorted by fetchers or content types. By the way, this is a fairly simple modification of the search query. in addition I see some confusion between the IMBD or OMDB fetchers. it seems that some part of the queries and logic works with one, some part with the other and these things are not very connected.

    The correct Naming for Miniseries?

you are not quite right but let's put aside this common question about autoidentification and its problems and focus on the issue of this topic. many fetchers to fetch is great, but there is still no affordable result either.

    Cover Art plugin

Good morning, Maybe Cover Art 4.0 needs a small update, it does not put the TEXT on every cover, although it is always the same codec. Or am I doing something wrong...?
  20. I'm voicing my support for this feature since I was directed here from another post. After reading through some of the existing comments I agree with the sentiment that if a user has access to stream the content on a server they surely could find a way to "download" the file via alternate means. That wouldn't negate the usefulness of the feature as a whole though. Admins just need to understand that disallowing downloads for a specific library doesn't add "security" no more than disallowing downloads altogether currently does. Although it might be a good idea to actually point these things out in documentation, I think most people can connect the dots there. This isn't a "security" feature. It's a utility and quality of life one that could save admins a bit of headache or actually allow them to enable client downloads for certain users in specific libraries where they otherwise might have had to keep them disabled altogether for one reason or another. Below is the content of my original post before being directed to this one: Basically I think admins should be able to control downloads on a per library basis for each user if that user has downloads enabled. As an aside I also think per library settings would be useful for any kind of external sharing links. (Although that feature seems to maybe not be working right now?) As an example: For remote-only users I only want to allow downloads for music or other audio libraries as the file sizes are manageable, even with modest upload speeds. I don't want them to be able to download from video libraries as those file sizes are exponentially larger by comparison. I'm sure others would also find this useful for similar reasons, or various others.

    VOD playback issues

Hi Luke, While I was testing I did enable/disable quite a few settings to try and resolve on my own. Here are the logs with that setting enabled, but still seeing the same issue, which doesn't affect all the movies offered by the Provider when in Emby, but I haven't seen any issues viewing them in other IPTV apps. Also the movies that do play all show "Recovering from playback error" in the stream info. Also its not letting me edit my post above, I would like to remove those files. ffmpeg-directstream-cda88476-8494-48c5-9e8a-7c5e113aa8ad_1.txt

    embyforkodi (next-gen) 12.X.X support

Hi, great work on the new 12.x.x version! I updated right away and it's been working really well. I recently started using a new feature in Emby Server 4.9.1.0-beta: "Treat 'other' folder as extras for episodes." I added an other folder inside a season to store specials. Emby detects them fine and shows a "Special - " prefix for each one in the web UI. But in Kodi, if there are only specials in the other folder (no regular episodes), the episode list shows up empty. If there's at least one regular episode, the specials from other do show up in Kodi. I tested this on 11.x, and it worked fine.

  27. Obligatory please link any equivalent feature request as I'm sure it may have come up before. My searches for this exact thing on the forum have been all misses though.
