I’m just talking about the Emby account, I don’t have a server or anything.

I am usually very good about understanding questions even those presented by people whose native language is not English. But this question seems to really have no root language. If you are an English speaker rephrase your question. If you are not then try and post in your native language. If you are unsure about there being people here that understand your language then post in your native language with a translation in the same post. The odds are good that someone here will understand your language. I, for one, am usably fluent in English, German, Japanese, French and Spanish(more Mexican Spanish than European Spanish). If I am wrong that English is not you native language then I am sorry for the wrong guess.

@LukeI was using the TV platform in "virtualTvExample" and it stopped working today. The log is attached below. The EPG populates OK but clicked shows do not play. I get the error message: "Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. (Parameter 'index')" It was working great an hour ago. Has remote access previously worked via Connect? But if you can log into the forum the exact same info applies to Connect assuming your server Remote access works.

@OracleI'm logged in as admin, that should have access to everything?

Unless there is a platform variable, I am not sure. Personally, unless you wish to stay on beta cycle until released, I would wait. But I am currently unable to reproduce a library folder access issue in 4.8.7.0 but am on a Windows install.

Sounds like a permissions issue. Make sure your user has RW access to the folder. Otherwise, access it as root and see what happens.

This account, I changed my password right before making this post. No one has access to my emails. I just wanna be sure it wasn’t a Malicious attempt or I’m just stupid.

I think when looking at an artist's page who is not an album artist, but appears on compilations you would want access to the songs directly..(searching through the compilation albums for the artists content would be a ball ache. Agree songs are lower priority.

So you saw in my screenshots (that I posted previously) that my "Disks" library has 2 folders: /mnt/usbdisk2/media/discs/by-age/PG/9 /mnt/usbdisk2/media/discs/by-age/PG/14 and that I've only granted the "Bobby" user access to /mnt/usbdisk2/media/discs/by-age/PG/9 However, when I'm browsing the "Disks" library as the "Bobby" user, I'm seeing movies from both directories: My expectation is that "Dead Poets Society" and "Remains of the Day" would not show up because they are only in the "/mnt/usbdisk2/media/discs/by-age/PG/14" which is unchecked for the "Bobby" user. Sorry can you elaborate are you using this account or a different account as you logged in here so the password works. Are you sure Remote access is configured correctly on your server and user?

I've tried that, no matter what I do I just keep getting, access denied. Like I say, it would be so much easier if @ShanePcould add it to the Emby catalogue?

Can only guess related to new client version release and not this topic. But think devs will have to comment as this is specific to the new client release 2.2.21, correct? But just updated to beta 2.2.21 and currently not seeing a issue on my iphone se 17.4.1. Will test again when update to 17.5.1 is done. No issue seen after OP update to 17.5.1 either in my limited testing.

Thank you for making the changes you've already made regarding how a genre's contents are presented. The Genre --> Artist --> Album view, as it is currently, is almost exactly how I personally like to browse my music collection. However, because I use the Artist field to associate artists to specific songs in compilations, I prefer to sort the albums themselves using the "Album Artist" tag. When selecting "Artist" after "Genre", I end up seeing a bunch of artists that only appear in one song in a compilation. That makes the list longer, which is not that big a deal, but it also means that some of the artist artwork can't be found in many cases. For example, when I've used the "Artist" tag to indicate a collaboration between two artists who only worked together for that one song, it's less likely that there would be artist artwork featuring both artists together. Another example is a compilation album called "Dreams" by The Allman Brothers Band, which includes songs by artists and bands related to The Allman Brothers Band, such as the Allman Joys, The 31st of February, Allman and Woman, among several others. All of these related artists appear under the "Artist" view because I entered their names in the "Artist" tag, but I would prefer to only see The Allman Brothers Band, which I could easily do if I was able to sort by Genre --> Album Artist --> Album. I realize that many users would probably prefer the Genre --> Artist --> Album view, so I was wondering if it would be possible to add an option that would allow us to tell Emby to use the "Album Artist" tag instead of the "Artist" tag when showing the contents of a particular genre. In MusicBee, I'm able to achieve this by telling it to "Group By" Album Artist under a genre's content. I'm thinking maybe an option to "Show Album Artists instead of Artists" or something like that could be added when viewing a genre's contents. It doesn't seem like such a change would be too complicated to implement. If that feature could be added (or another one that would provide the same end result), it would make Emby the perfect solution to manage my music collection. I imagine other users would appreciate having the option to sort by "Album Artist" as well. Thanks!

I bought the Movie & TV Theme Videos plug-in. I ran the download for TV theem videos...BUT.. I've enabled Enable theme videos, but now what? I go to the TV Series and I see NO them video playing. I look in the folder and there is a BACKDROP folder with a theme.mkv in it..but how does it work and where? I am using a Roku Ultra

As this isn't specifically an AndroidTV app problem I was posting about it on this thread Latest update broke Genre even more, but the thread got sidetracked. With server v4.8.7 on either the web browser or the mobile app 3 of 5 ways to shuffle/play are broken, server 4.9.0.16 improved this to 2 of 5 but there has been no improvement up to 4.9.0.22. 1: Music->Genre->Icon Context Menu->Shuffle or Play : Working 2: Music->Genre->Main Page->Shuffle or Play : Working 3: Music->Genre->Artists->Shuffle or Play : Slow playlist creation, high cpu usage during that time (fixed in 4.9.0.16+) 4: Music->Genre->Albums->Shuffle or Play : Very slow playlist creation, high cpu usage during that time (mobile app just give up) 5: Music->Genre->Songs->Shuffle or Play : Slow playlist creation, high cpu usage during that time The speed is somewhat dependant on the number of items in the genre.

And as mention it was a design decision to Remove Collections/not create the library in 4.8 that has changed but don't believe it has been ported to a maintence release and you have to manually add library back via the api as shown in the link I attached or change to Beta cycle or wait until it is ported into current stable cycle.

There you go, another log as I run library scan consequently now for 3 days in a row as soon as as the last one finishes (more or less). I am 99% sure that nothing overwrites the nfo's and I keep scanning the library because as the OP of this post said, it magically got back to normal after some time. Strange thing I've noticed is that some nfo's are still 'untouched' by the scan and remain with the date the library was created (13.05.2024 - when I moved my server from Synology NAS to Windows, but the media files remind at the NAS and just the access paths were changed so no changes in nfo files) embyserver (1).txt

Hi there, It appears as though I've also encountered this issue. It's looking like it's encountering a problem with .mkv's that have subtitles included, just based on some preliminary testing. The device is running iPadOS 17.5.1 with Emby for iOS 2.2.21 Attached is a new server log that I cycled just before reproducing the error. Is there any way a developer could help me see when my password was changed? I was trying to log into Emby and it kept saying wrong password. I then tried multiple passwords and they were all wrong, I checked my messages to see what the password was I sent my gf and it was the original password that stated I was wrong. Can I get any logs? Maybe I’m just crazy lol but would be nice to know.
