Just another nail in the coffin of traditional media and it's delivery. They are circumventing "fair rights" which was established way back when they feared the VHS recording would cause them financial harm, it did not, it only offered them more opportunity to make money. Cable TV and even broadcast TV is on the outs for a reason, instead of developing the talent and mindset to deliver things people are willing to spend money on they are trying to lock down 60 year old reruns of shows that have been in syndication my entire life. I only still have Cable TV because I am recording everything I can on movie channels that don't have commercials and populating my emby server with that content. Currently if I watch only one movie a day I will likely die before I watch them all. At some point either due to this BS or it becoming too expensive I will dump Cable and never look back. I can buy streaming packages for the few channels I actually watch. I currently have hundreds of channels yet only watch a handful, maybe 8, and my Cable bill alone is $200. These idiots are too stupid to realize why people are dumping their arse.

How do i force tmdb metadata for a particular series ?
xd003 replied to xd003's topic in General/Windows
@pwhodgesthanks for the heads up, i can confirm that tvdb's dvd order is exactly how my library is ( and how its on tmdb by default). i have changed the file order setting to dvd -
I would like nothing better than to be proved wrong and Emby to be able to record ATSC 3.O DRM'd TV. Have Emby engaged with A3SA on this subject?
-
True, on the other hand though it's the part that imo lacks the most development - we might see some steps forward though as TVnext was kinda announced to be included into the server. "Regular" playback is working just fine for me.

Not as it pertains to charging for TV guide subscriptions.

I have a similar(ish) issue. The tldr is I can't add or remove tracks from playlists that were created outside of Emby. My playlists are in two locations: - /var/lib/emby/data/playlists (and now userplaylists) - /mnt/playlists - a share on my NAS that I mount using cifs and added as a Library folder within Emby In version 4.7 I could create skeleton .m3u8 files on the NAS share and add/remove tracks via Emby. This was great as I want my playlists to be available to other music players, not just Emby. After upgrading to 4.8.5.0 I've noticed the following: - Emby can see and play the .m3u8 playlists in /mnt/playlists - I can't add tracks to those playlists - I get the "Added to playlist" pop up, but the playlist in Emby is doesn't change and the m3u8 file is not updated - I can't delete a track either - while it is initially removed from the playlist in Emby, again the m3u8 file not updated. The playlist in Emby eventually gets refreshed to match the m3u8 file if I try to add a track to it or manually edit it in some way. - I can delete the .m3u8 files in /mnt/playlists via Emby As far as I can tell a playlist created from within Emby works fine, no issues adding/delete tracks. There isn't anything obvious in embyserver.txt - I see the usual POST to update the playlist and get a 200 back. The only difference is I don't see a "Info App: Saving playlist" message when editing my playlists in /mnt/playlists. The emby user has read/write access to the share. My emby install is on a Debian 11.9 VM, 5.10.0-28-amd64.

Someone has given you access to their Emby server. Whomever that is, you need to contact them to chase down your connection issue. If you were paying someone for access to a media library via Emby, then they were doing that illegally and they may be gone now...

Trying to keep things relevant (I too use/enjoy ABS, but want to see Emby get better), I've found Bragibooks to be a quite capable tool for tagging M4Bs, and merging MP3s (though I've noticed a bug where the composer and artist tags become transposed...I use mp3tag to fix that).

It's possible RIP Old CD with tracks in DTS
pwhodges replied to Pietrogramma's topic in General/Windows
Hang on; I just realised that your image shows Emby transcoding the file - in my tests I think it was always being direct played. The A/V amp is not getting the DTS but the AAC transcode, which is why the indicator is not showing. This is because you are sending it through the TV, which Emby reckons can't handle either the WAV format or the DTS content (I'm not sure which). If you can provide the logs for this playback (ffmpeg as well as Emby), it might be possible to work out the exact cause. Paul -

For some reason, initiating playback via CarPlay always fails, while initiating it via IOS App, while connected to CarPlay always works. Maybe someone from Emby team can take a look, it is a bit frustrating, since technically (from end user perspective) Emby CarPlay "does not work". From logs, bunch of errors happen, around the time I attempted it, (search for string "Halo" which is track name) or Timestamp starting from 15:48 Client is latest from AppStore, connection is over Wireguard to the server (Emby unfortunately does not support CarPlay on downloaded files, yet) embyserver.txt

Hi, The account I'm talking about is this forum account. * The point is that this account is using my old email and when I try to update my email I receive a message that says that email is already in use * I tried to recover the password for the new email but the email never arrives (tried multiple times) Maybe a admin could help me deleting that account so I can change the email in this one I'm using now Thanks

Since you will loose the Zappiti provided meta data search and other services they offered, I believe you will have problems to use the device unless you can just use it as the playback device but that would be very difficult as you have no navigation front end. Just Google Zappiti out of business or Zappiti alternative and you will read some sob stories as well as suggestions. My fear is that your Zappiti player can't be used the way you had in the past as no 3rd party software exist for it. What you need is 1st storage for your media (either external Hard Drives or NAS), 2nd a device that allows the installation of the Emby server old PC or laptop, inexpensive NAS (you find a thread here for that). 3rd you need a WELL supported playback device NVidea Shield, Roku Ultra or wait for the imminent arrival of the new Google TV. You will able to connect all together using an inexpensive 5 or 8 port Giga Byte switch the NAS, the Zappiti player and your preferred playback device are all connected by plugging in the network cables. Having said that from what I read you will NOT be able to access your meta data on your Zappiti player as there are NO editors for that. My suggestion is get either a NAS stick high capacity hard drives in it for your media, install Emby server on it and connect a Google TV to it. You will be up and running for easy navigation, video walls and other meta data. If you are more comfortable with windows get an inexpensive Asus small form factor PC with 1TB SSD to replace the NAS and hook external hard drives to it, job done. I tried Kodi but it is not for me, what I really prefer with Emby is the support and help in the user forums.
