HI, in the 4.8 server there are some cases where your configured credentials do not get applied. This has been resolved in the upcoming 4.9 server release. Thanks.

Micro stutters and judder on Shield TV / Fire Stick
reas11 replied to kaledi's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
Had the same issue of Microstutter/Judder for months on the new android app using both Shield and Google TV Streamer. No stutter on the old Android TV App, so seems isolated to the new app only. Few people complaining of the same on Reddit also Can confirm only an issue for 4K HDR/DV content. 1080p content has no stutter -
That's unfortunate. Jellyfin it is then...

Feature Request: Grid Tile Format for Media Libraries in Android App

Hi, an option for this hasn't been added yet, but it's possible for future updates. Thanks. -
Hi. Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares? Thanks.

That damn f.ing version number.. I did all that work on the wrong version again.. Deleted that now! Some quick copy and paste of the icon size stuff and it should work now. EmbyIcons.dll

I'm a dumbfuck, I forgot to restart Emby Server after downloading your next-to-last dll. Nevertheless with both last dlls tag icons are not inserted into the image. Do you need a log? But the icons I see now are not distorted anymore and have the exact aspect ratio as the source pngs. So it seems you're on a good way. Now: Before:

Best way to replace an existing file with a different extension?
Lessaj replied to podonnell's topic in General/Windows
The NFO does not actually reference the file directly, it's more that it gets associated to the video file based on the name. So if you replace the webm with an equivalently named mp4 it will just update the NFO. -

fraisecafe replied to raylapse's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
As a second follow-up, this also happens when switching apps, for example if someone accidentally hits the Netflix button on the TV remote or if you want to quickly check something on YouTube … I’ve had to find my spot in Lord of the Rings while watching with my kids three times in the past hour because of the way the interface works, something I never had with Plex. I’d love to know how to permanently disable this dialog box and how to mark where the file was watched until so that I don’t keep hitting this issue every single time we watch something. Please. Thank you. -
It seems there is no significant change to the produced coverart image. Seems the image is still streched vertically. original Aspect ratio (image size 186x76px): aspect ratio in cover:

How to get rid of the Mark Watched dialog?
fraisecafe replied to raylapse's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
As a follow-up, is this something we can disable now? If so, how? If not, why not? I’m coming from Plex and this (along with other “little” things around the Interface Design) is driving me absolutely nuts on my Android TV. I’m using the Android app, and every time I press “back” on my TV remote this stupid popup comes up, which is especially annoying when I’ve clicked on a file accidentally or if I press “back” while trying to hide the file scrubbing overlay. If I press “No”, it ends up not marking the file as played, thankfully, but I shouldn’t need to be asked every time I partially play a file … never mind that pressing “No” doesn’t preserve where I was in the show/movie file at all, either, which makes it even more infuriating. I’m trying to understand how to set this up so it just plays and stops a file without additional steps/input, and then be able to continue from where I was. This especially feels unnecessarily obtuse compared to Plex and I’d love to be able to just turn this nonsense off. (Edit: For clarity, I’m using VLC because for whatever reason the built-in player didn’t work at all on my Sony TV; using the built-in player, then, isn’t even an option for me.) -

mickle026 replied to mickle026's topic in Plugins
Does it crash if you set the memory limiter? I am asking this because if you have the library task trigger in emby to re-scan the library, I am wondering if the system gets out of memory? Emby itself on "some" but not all machines during a library scan runs away with memory. On my older server, it takes all 32gb of memory until it becomes unresponsive and crashes, but on my newer one stays within 2gb... -
DTS:X being downmixed to 2 channels or not working at all
generiq replied to krojew's topic in Windows & Xbox
The entire playback chain has to support it. Software and hardware. If any part of the chain doesn't, you get nothing. That's why the server decaodes and resamples the audio. When using the store app, it uses mpv. mpv can do this natively. The server won't be involved. It can also bitstream the audio directly to the external audio device. This is why I wanted to see the mpv logs. That would tell me what's happening. He was comparing VLC to a browser. That was a mistake. If he used the Windows app, all of his dreams would come true. -

Cor11 started following Problem with media in SMB-shares
-
Hy, I got my emby-server (v4.8.11.0 with premiere) running (via Proxmox LXC with Debian 12) for a few weeks and I'm managing my metadata via TTM. Emby gets the media via SMB from an OpenMediaVault. The import with nfo's and pictures ... works fine but when changing/adding infos or pictures in Emby, these aren't wrote back to the SMB-share. Also not existing files aren't created. A problem with the permission couldn't be the point because I tried several options (guest allowed for SMB with other wrx-permission, Emby-user as owner of the complete share and recursively, ...). Normally my SMB-user "Emby" has read/write privileges for SMB and is in the group "users" which has wrx-permissions for the file-system. The Log also don't throw a permission error but an IOException. I don't know why. The folder is correct and the reread of the nfo is correct. Here is a part (just striped opensubtitle-gets) of the last try. First one ist writing vie Metadata-Manager and second one should be rereading metadata. There is also an error but it worked!? "Filme\ABBA - Der Film (1977)" is also a folder, not a file. 2025-07-05 17:35:14.507 Info Server: http/1.1 Response 200 to ^`^l ^`^m ^`^m192.168.xxx.xxx ^`^l. Time: 5ms. Best way to replace an existing file with a different extension?

Hi, I have a .webm file that I want to replace with a .mp4 I named it the same exact name but I'm not sure if the .nfo file is going to link up because of the new extension. Ideally just looking for a way to replace the existing file with my new one without losing metadata. What's the best advice? Thanks!
