  2. In my bilingual collection, manually picking my preferred track each time is tedious. Please add a setting to automatically select, for example, English audio and subtitles for the entire library, and if the user wants, to they can select the secondary tracks with other languages.
  3. On my Android app, the bottom bar only shows Home, Movies, Collections, Downloads, and Search. I’d like to add TV, Music, and Audiobooks—and make the bar scrollable so all of them can fit.
  4. I love cloning basic preferences between profiles, but I still have to set up display layouts, Home‑screen widgets, subtitle defaults, notifications, and profile pictures manually. Let me copy all of those at once so new users instantly get my preferred setup.
  5. I have a Samsung Smart TV running Tizen OS. As I scroll through my media folders, I noticed that the scroll behavior is "jumpy" instead of smooth. Please add smooth scroll to TVs?

    Editing Metadata for Audiobooks

So, firstly what do you use to edit the metadata for Audio books? Hmm, it sounds like Emby looks at the Metadata in an Audiobook (e.g. MP3) and that overrides the file structure? Does it expect certain ID3 tags for Audio Books - Like the reader of the audiobook (Narrator? Reader? Actor?) or the Series (if it is a book in a series)? I have read, https://emby.media/support/articles/Audio-Book-Naming.html I have something called Tag Editor 2 (and Audiobook Builder) but I haven't tried it with Emby yet. Emby has done a fine job with most of the Audiobooks I've loaded but is having trouble with Stephen King's, The Dark Tower VII. This particular collection of stories (The Dark Tower VII) is divided into Parts (1-8), each with a name, and each part has 1 or more chapters, also with a name. I have set up the file structure within a Library called Audiobooks as follows; Author\Book Name\Part # - Part Name\Chapter # - Chapter Name.mp3. I see as I'm writing this that some of the Part Names have dashes in them and this might be messing up Emby, e.g., Part 1 - The Little Red King - Dan-tete\ Chapter 1 - Callahan and the Vampires.mp3 \Chapter 2 - Lifted on the Wave.mp3 \Chapter 3 - Eddie Makes a Call.mp3 Hmm, maybe this is problematic, with the dashes and a ' (e.g., Part 3 - In This Haze of Green and Gold - Ves’-Ka Gan)? Dan PS I have an older QNAP NAS and I'm thinking of replacing it because it can't do transcoding - where might I post a question about recommendations related to an Emby friendly media server?

Emby for Apple TV 2.0.0 Released

A-Z search would really be great
  8. Yesterday
  9. Yet another reason to not use screen savers. I do not use them. If an app needs to automagically pause a blank screen is the best way. But I only use that on my phone as lighting up the screen takes energy so reduces battery life. For devices that are plugged into external power screensavers are nothing but fluff. Of course "fluff" is sometimes pretty but I watch content not the interface or screensavers. But screensavers should always be a user choice and should ALWAYS go completely away on the first user interaction.

  15. First off, the developers have been pushing the standard android app for years now. At first I was reluctant but then changed because the standard app supports theme videos but have found this to be just eye candy and am going to put the android TV app front and center and move the standard app to the side because of playback issues. I'll continue to test but am going to stop is using the standard app as the daily driver. I've had both installed side by side for a couple years now so they can both be used without issue.
  16. OK we'll take a look at it. Thanks.
  17. I think dvbsub require transcoding so they get burned in regardless, I encountered a few of them when I was combing through my media and converting everything to SRT and I was not able to use SubtitleEdit from the command line to convert them like you can with vobsub/pgs/aas/ssa because all the timings were getting lost. I had to load the video in SubtitleEdit GUI and run the OCR on them in order to convert them. Check if the server is transcoding videos with those subtitles, it probably is, so they're being burned into the video.
  18. Demo of Claude + Emby.MCP with Audio Drama Files My Emby server contains a lot of BBC Radio audio drama files that have rich mp3/mp4 metadata including a long description with full cast list in the Lyrics field. This is good material for demonstrating Emby.MCP. In the transcript below, my requests to Claude are in bold blockquotes and Claude's reply runs until the horizontal line (insert here for clarity). During processing, Claude shows the tool name it is about to use (eg 'search_for_item' and 'select_library'), along with parameter values and the verbatim return data. These are then visually rolled up leaving just the tool name in the transcript. For some requests, Claude is clearly just using a simple tool in the simple way that the tool's documentation suggests. However for the request to find all items that feature two named actors Claude has understood that the search tool can only find one actor at a time, so has reasoned that it must search for the second actor itself within the results returned by a tool search for the first actor - I did not explicitly tell it to do so. I'll help you explore your Emby library. Let me start by checking what libraries are available on your Emby server. Your Emby server has several libraries available: Music - Main music library Playlists - Your saved playlists Movies - Movie collection BBC Sounds - BBC audio content I'll search for Julian Simpson and create a new playlist with all the results. TrueNas use Emby beta version

HI, I think they saw the version number ending in .0 and assumed it was the stable release. Anyway, it will all get corrected as soon as we have a new stable release with a higher version number.
  20. Hi all, I have created a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that connects Emby to an AI client such as Claude Desktop. Think of it as a DIY version of Amazon Alexa (tm) that works with any MCP compliant LLM and operates on your own private media collection. This was a learning project to explore MCP and code for the first time in Python (I've been a long-time coder in other languages). It is built using the Emby client SDK and the MCP Server SDK. It runs locally to the AI client on your PC/Mac (not as an Emby server plugin). Current features: Log on to & log out of an Emby media server; Retrieve a list of media libraries; Select a specified library; Retrieve a list of genres used in that library; Search for items in that library by genre, title, album, release year, and lyrics/description - returns rich metadata per item; Retrieve playlists, create new playlists, add items to playlists & re-order them, and share playlists with other Emby users; Retrieve a list of accessible media players known to Emby; Retrieve the current play queue of a specified media player; Control the playing, pausing, seeking, etc of a specified media player, including transferring the queue to another player. I've released it under GPL at https://github.com/angeltek/Emby.MCP if anyone is interested in playing with it. Detailed instructions are provided. I'll post a (long) demo transcript as a reply so as to keep this post tidy.

    Clean Install always fails.

Hi. I have uninstalled Truenas Scale V24 and moved back to V22 Bluefin as I read several posts for other apps forums that said quite a few users having trouble installing apps on v24 because of the way it changed how it used Docker - especially as I had imported my data pool and data sets from Truenas Core. It says you can do the upgrade this way no problem but I suspect there was something in the ACL permissions that carried over that it didn't like. Didn't understand most of it, but a lot of suggestions saying Bluefin was more stable. I also started from ground zero and wiped previous pool and data sets and recreated everything from within Truenas Scale. I then managed to install Emby on v22 no problem. Thanks anyway.

HI, how did you solve the problem?

Collections - Show a poster on the detail screen

You're right it does change in Emby Web and also on the mobile Emby version. Unfortunately I mainly use the Emby app from smart TVs so this doesn't really solve it. Will it be possible to make the collection menu not to ignore this setting in the future or make a separate toggle option for collections only?
  25. Thanks for following up !
  26. Hi, Luke. In "Users," I went to "Profile" and "Access." I enabled everything, and now it's working. Thank you so much.
