Yes, it does, at least for music. I love it for videos. The thing is, I'd just write some software to tag my files correctly (I've done similar things in the past), except that editing the tags in an mp3 file with software is a pain in the neck. I'm sure I could find a library to add to my software to do it for me, but I don't feel like bothering. Also it may cost money, which I don't have to throw at this project just now. I use a program to massage my videos into a naming scheme and file structure Emby likes because I found one that does a good job of it, but prior to that I had whipped together a little program that did some touchups to my existing naming to make it handle well by Plex (which I was using at the time) and deleted some unnecessary files I had generated when it found them. Anyway, thanks for your help.

Metadata is like onion layers... You have it all working nicely and then change programs and start crying. When you have fixed up the problems, you peel back another layer of metadata and cry some more! Mp3tag is extremely powerful. I've been using it for years and likely only use it at a very basic level. Keep going... you'll get there!

Yes to be clear - the feature I am using is (in Emby Server, under my Movies library): ..so if I have, say, Beverly Hills Cop 1 and 2 in the library, then I add 3, that movie will also be added to the existing Beverly Hills Cop collection, thanks to the metadata. I understand the Emby for Kodi behavior perfectly now thanks to your explanation, and can now follow along in the code. Many thanks for taking time out to do that, it is much appreciated. It is very tricky logic to de-dupe the boxset updates correctly. Since I don't have a PR for you I'll donate instead. Awesome work.

Hello can someone point me to the last version of theater that worked with server 4.7? I'm sure it's on github somewhere, but I am finding it hard to find. I downgraded my server and would like to do the same with theater. I can not stand the UI changes and other updates that have happen since 4.8. Also is there a way to stop theater from auto updating like with the server? Thanks!

I checked, it's enabled in Emby already. I've figured it out for MP3Tag, and you're right, there's some work involved.

I have other topics for the moment.... for example, trying to figure out if a r_volution 8k player and emby would work.... btw, I posted some month ago. you would really help me if one of you guys could use emby android with an tablet / keyboard / mouse in landscape mode for some weeks. here s9 galaxy ultra. it's just not working. app freeze, overlay not hiding, mouse not visible..

OK, the program image is probably coming from your guide data. It sounds like you want the guide data import to ignore all program images, but we don't have an option for that currently.

Hi Paul you are right, Emby is transcoding the file/stream. The thing is that Emby is doing exacting what it should be doing See below, What I think is happening is that Emby is evaluating the playback capabilities based on the "standard" of codec (wav, flac, ac3, dts..) and container type (.wav, .m4a, mka, etc.) The thing is you have to put them together Which Emby does well. Emby probably uses rules like below to determine what needs to be transcoded (which is deciding based on what it thinks the client device can play or stream) the general "standards" Container = "m4a", AudioCodec = "aac,alac,", VideoCodec = "", Type =Audio Container = "flac", AudioCodec = "flac", VideoCodec = "", Type = Audio and so on Container = Wav, MKA, etc Emby does a great job doing the above. So IMO nothing seems broken per say.. @Luke@pwhodges @Pietrogramma Don't we really just need to know if there is container we can put the content in Emby would evaluate it and not transcode it. (My thought is on windows any there is never a need to transcode a music based on codec or container, windows os has great support. Where you may want it is because of bandwidth considerations) Container = "?????", AudioCodec = "DTS", (and to cover other flavors AC3, EAC3, XXXX,XXXX,) VideoCodec = "", Type = Audio -vicpa BTW I hacked the container definition for "m4a" adding to the AudioCodec ="aac,alac,ac3,eac3", as workaround on the client I use. Luke, I tried that before I came to the forums, and it didn't work (as we now expect it not to work where fanart doesn't have any thumbs). I got all the thumbs fixed, though. A few fanart had new thumbs that weren't available when I added the show originally, the rest I made my own, except one. That one fanart had an image for, newly approved yesterday, but wouldn't download in Emby (neither Web nor ET), perhaps because it was too new to too few downloads? Maybe new fanart only shows to logged in fanart.tv users? Dunno. I downloaded it manually and then set it as the thumb. I'm good on the images now. Still have the weirdness with the tv show library data provider options being un-checkable in ET for Linux, and also the oddity of being at 3.0.19 instead of 3.0.20 as windows is. Might force uninstall ET for Linux, the reinstall it, if you think that may help any.

Hi Luke I have channel logos for all the above channels but on the home screen and on now various not all change in line with what is bring shown on that channel and I would really like to keep it as a permanent logo
